That's true, but problem is, "passion", the ability and willingness to work hard and motivate players, only goes so far. Gerry Faust had tremendous passion for Notre Dame, so did Charlie Weiss, and both were crummy coaches.
What separates the great coaches is the football brain. Guys like Saban and Meyer have football IQs of 170+. And it looks like Herman might be up there with them.
Orgeron looks like a 120-130 guy. Heck, Les Miles was a 140 guy and he was routinely outsmarted by Saban in the big games.

I do not think it would matter....IMO Herman has wanted Texas all along.

Who is this Les Miles? When it came to game day, LSU's coach was about 80 IQ.
