BC vs. Maryland will be lucky to draw an honest 10K fans. Those schools do not travel well and don't have much excitement in their programs these days.

Sounds like it's WMU fans who deserve the credit for setting the record.

most of the P5 championship games has a lot of empty seats. tough to pack a stadium on a week's notice in a neutral city. MACC should draw well if there is a nearby participating team having a great year (WMU, EMU, CMU, Toledo, BG) otherwise it's teams not within a manageable afternoon drive trying to get a load of fans to Detroit in December, which won't work well often.

Will be interesting to see if WMU travels big time to Dallas. Can they bring 30-40 thousand fans? Tickets will be cheap on the secondary market with that colossal stadium having plenty of room. Can the city and university mobilize everyone to get to Dallas?

Downside is, you'll be in Dallas.

Similar to what happened to NIU Orange Bowl. I went to that for $15.

5k WMU tix sold, another 8k resale tix, and changing the local football fan to root for WMU will be fine... you may have 25k screaming fans when WMU takes a late lead. Not all will be true Kzoo'ers though.

true that. although, there's the option of spending new years weekend in austin, loading up on bbq for the drive to dallas and flying out of there after the mac pulls the stunner
