As an after dinner mint... just glad there is something positive to talk about. Some familiar ground...winning.

It didn't help Washington was on the bench, but he said he saw this coming. Guys had an emotional weekend, off Monday and Thanksgiving tomorrow. Kept trying to get them to focus on a team that has some decent mid-major wins and thinks will be a solid team. Disappointed with guys off the bench that didn't hustle and get any deflections. Said that .500 teams try to win with jump shots. Kept trying to get them to go inside and quit relying on the three. Mentioned that zone offense early in the year can still be a work in progress, especially with new guys.

New guys? Other than Brooks and Cumberland who is playing that was not at least practicing with the team last year? I see some of the same deficiencies on offense that are all too familiar. Thank god for Washington.

I think the sample size is sufficient to see what you are going to get with Mick's team on offense. He's not Mike Brey or John Beilein. He will win with defense and toughness, not offensive execution.

The difference I see with this team is we got a couple guys who can actually put the ball in the basket when you throw it to them, and create their own shot. Gives me hope for the season.

To an earlier point, I too thought KW reminded me of KMart. It was prolly the same play for all of us. It was that quick jump release floater at the rim off the rebound. His motion and athleticism looked just like KMart. And Brooks was fantastic for a frosh. What a find he was by Cronin. Could end up the best inside player Cronin has recruited yet, by the time he's a senior. Looked like NBA talent to me. Smooth, quick, athletic with hops, and can score. Much to be excited about. Cumberland, not so much yet. Has yet to look good on a perimeter shot this season. But it's still early for the frosh.

As always though, perimeter offense appears to suck again. We just never seem to find any dead eye shooters. Troy, KJ and Evens looked awful from outside most of the game.

If Caupain can find his stride then this team may hit another level. I love Troy, but he has been fairly invisible to start the season, and it may have cost us a game.

Think I'll wait until after the Iowa St. and Butler games to make any kind of prediction. We have played one good team and gotten beat, sample size is to small.
