We can’t quite work out who thought it would be a good idea to expand the stadium of a team who couldn’t fill their previous one to capacity. They play awfully, the stadium is awful, it’s just a shambles.

Man, those critiques are pretty harsh.

ODU has a really nice stadium in Foreman Field, and they sell out every game.

Also she wasn't saying the stadium is in shambles, she was describing the program, not the stadium. It's the more archaic usage of the word, but it is grammatically correct, even if it sounds a bit odd.

That combined with her comment about "proper bleachers" in reference to the grass bern at one stadium(believe she used "proper" a few more times) led me to believe the author may be British.


The criticism seemed almost personal, there are many teams on this list with worse attendance, worse stadiums and worse W/L records than us who were not described nearly as harshly.

Definitely British. The article said "pitch" to refer to the field
