Tbh if I were in your shoes I'd just stay quiet until after the game. The way things are going if yall beat us, which is a definite possibility, then you'll get to unload a serious case of trash talk to the UH faithful. Food for thought, luck Friday!
But even if we win, which is very unlikely based on our defense; that doesn't give normal people a license to act like jerks, be arrogant, or obnoxious based on the way a group of +/-100 kids we happen to cheer for perform on a football field.
I agree. However, I'm pretty sure what triggered all this UH-Memphis stuff, was a comment that one UH fan made about UH being the premier coaching position among group of 5 teams. I know that comment sounds pretty arrogant (Actually there was also a dig at Memphis being like the 15th best program, or some bs) but I don't think its out of bounds either. People say ****. Is UH the top coaching position in the G5? Maybe. Does it matter? Not really. Is Memphis the 14th or 15th best destination? Who cares. Its not even a relevant topic of conversation because yall aren't going to have to hire a new coach in a month or two. UH on the other hand, probably will.
Point is I think everybody could use a little bit of chill pill. Its obvious that UH fans are tense because of the Herman stuff and it seems that Memphis fans are still a little upset about Fuente leaving, its understandable, we're all obviously committed fans. Everybody's stood their ground and defended their program, now lets have some peace and enjoy the rest of the season.
Good post WhoseHouse. Let the smack talkers smack away. As a Tiger fan, I'm just looking forward to the game, ought to be a good one.

At least UCF had a few great years and made headlines. Most of the other teams here should be lucky that Houston is holding up the league right now or the next TV contract will be closer to CUSA money.
I'm pretty sure SMU and Navy did something, no?

bro get over it if memphis was in our shoes youd be freaking out way more
literally just a year and a half ago you guys were saying you ran this conference and were going to be the long term top of this league off of 1 shared titled after a decade of subpar
one can only imagine the madness that would come out if you guys had 2 top 10 wins in 1 season following a top 10 finish the previous year
are we arrogant? maybe a little ..but who wouldnt be in our situation
get used to it now, whoever is the media darling in this league will be somewhat arrogant
and i truly believe "arrogant" houston is dramatically better than other teams when they are winning. ucf/memphis were unbearable when they were on top..we were their slaves in the conference they ran. ecu has an all-star roster every preseason and will attack anyone who who claims to be better than them.....cincy when they are good pretend they are tooo top class to be with us
https://www.teamrankings.com/ncf/trends/...since_2006
Since the start of the 2006 season Houston has a winning % of 67.8 (18th in FBS). The only non-BCS/G5 schools with a better winning % during that period are Boise St (86.0, 1st) and BYU (70.9, 13th). Note also that two of the schools ranked ahead of UH (TCU 75.5, 7th and Utah 68.3, 17th) were non-BCS schools that got called up to the majors.
Btw - Memphis 39.3, 98th.
You're not addressing what this thread is about. What does any of that have to do with a fanbase's overall demeanor on a message board?
The comment that you are responding to was about being "arrogant and obnoxious".
Just because you can be arrogant and obnoxious, you admit that you are? That's a curious, interesting and telling comment.
I don't associate the entire Houston fanbase with these actions, only pesik and coogrfan who participated in this thread.
I didn't admit anything of the sort. I was supplying context for pesik's "can you blame us" line of reasoning.

Y'all can't make up your minds. Y'all complain that UH needs better fan support, and then when we start, y'all complain UH has too much fan support.

Navy is setup to make waves this season in the conference championship game and a solid bowl win and finishing ranked. Which is great.
SMU had a good week and beat UH, essentially spoiled our season. Not sure about what they have done to contribute to the strength of the AAC and future TV contracts.

So we should be thankful that Houston is in this conference? Without your presence we be the MAC I guess.

Seldom have I read such bravado from some fans of a school tied for second place in one of two league divisions.
