Guys and gals, none of us were excited by nor overly impressed with our performance yesterday, but WE WON THE GAME. The team recognized the problems and for the most part, had them fixed by the end of the game. Two very winnable games ahead of us before a bye week to get some work done, and things may really be better than any of us hoped for. Give the man a chance. He's our coach this season. We've only played one game. We won it. Nuff said.

I guess that's the right attitude Wiz. We still have a lot of football to play this year and hopefully Eli & Co. can make the necessary adjustments. After all we did play one of the best Vanderbilt teams I've ever seen.

On another note, 10MAN your USC Trojans put a beautiful whipping on Needle Nose Traitorville's Tigers!!! 04-bow I'll bet your friends are glad they made the trip!

04-cheers

Wizard, I find your points well taken and I will honor your most reasonable request. (Anybody who wants to read or respond to bashing can find plenty of it at OMSN.COM and even the Spirit Board, believe it or not. Ouch.)

I'm bummed because I worked my rear end off to get my pool ready for Labor Day and now the weather is not cooperating. Oh, well, I can find something else to do. Hope everybody has a happy and safe one.

Yeah, the weather seems to be kind of iffy here in Jackson today. I'm hoping to spend some time out at the Res before I go to work at 3.

Happy Labor Day everyone!! 04-cheers

Yes sir, it was a great game....well, for us Trojan fans anyway. :D That USC defense is just downright scary. Check out the AU board for my thoughts on the game-day experience at AU. 04-bow

I went over to the Auburn board and read your posts. Very good to know that. I've never been to Auburn for a game either. It makes me very glad we were very hospitable to the Auburn fans in the Grove last year after the game.

Good to know good southern hospitality exists at another school! 04-cheers

I'll agree with saving the Cutt-bashing for losses. Vandy is definitely improved, and playing up to their opponents. We got better in the 4th qtr, and I liked to see how they nutted up and came back. I would like to see the O-line show up next week, tho, after reading all the 'experienced-and-improved' hype all summer. Where were those guys? Rushing game? Gotta find one soon.

Couldn't believe we didn't use Razzano in several situations Saturday. And dropped passes all game long! Good grief, fellas, you've all played together now for 2-3 years. Get some stickum on those paws and catch the ball!

I'll take the SEC win on the road, and run with it. But we need to see week-by-week improvement from the shaky start.

I'm bashing Cutcliffe because I think he needs to be bashed...he needs to take some Geritol or maybe rub some "atomic balm" on his a-hole. My goodness man, show some enthusiasm, prove to me that you are not in a coma.

I see what you're saying, and I agree that I would love to see more enthusiasm out of him on the sidelines. What I'm saying though, is that if he ends up getting results, I don't care if he is in a coma. We have eleven games to see what those results are. Obviously, we didn't blow out Vandy, but we did win. That's result #1 of 12. The next two games will tell us a good bit, and game #4 will really be the first big test.

Going back to what 10MAN said a month or so ago, you have to really know the things he has accomplished inside the program to understand why we support him so much. Granted, I don't think 10 and I are going to be as pleased with him if we have a bad year. When I talked to him at the Loyalty Foundation meeting in February, it spoke volumes for him. I told him that I was in Shreveport, and he absolutely lit up like a kid on Christmas...not just like a head coach who won a big bowl game, but as an Ole Miss person who was really excited.

I think we'll know where things are really going with Ole Miss football after this season.

Dang Still, I went off on more of a tangent than I thought. My main point is, let's see what happens with the next eleven games. His first four seasons here are over and done with. We won the first game. On to Memphis.
