1987 California Bowl Footage?
Has anyone ever come across tape of the 1987 California Bowl? I would really like to watch it if possible. Has to be online somewhere, right?

RE: 1987 California Bowl Footage?
I went to the Cal Bowl in '87. My wife's best friend and her family lived in a city south of Fresno, so we used it as an opportunity to visit them and drive up to the game.
I asked my Mom to video tape the game for me. She took it upon herself to pause taping during commercials. I still have the tape, which has since been transferred to DVD, but it's missing an EMU TD. There was a short commercial break that surprised Mom. EMU scored before she realized it.
That was a good team. They nicknamed themselves the Road Warriors as they had an abundance of road games. Ron Adams was a very tough QB. He didn't have an especially good arm, but he was just a tough guy. In the Cal Bowl they threw to him on a trick play and he took a very hard hit after catching the ball. Adams didn't play in the NFL, but won a championship in arena football.
Gary Patton was a fine RB. But we had others who were good too. The Foster brothers were exceptional players.
The advantage we had over San Jose was found in the OL and DL. They had some pretty talented players with the ball, but our coaches recognized that we needed to run the ball, so much of the time the Huron offense was in a wishbone formation. They simply pushed the ball and kept it out of their skilled players hands. That was the key. And SJ hurt themselves with some bad penalties.

Getting closer to having my Vhs tape transferred to digital. Watched a few minutes over the weekend and remembered a small piece of trivia. Rick Rasnick was the sjsu OC and his brother was a DB for them.

1971 vs. Louisiana Tech. We lost 14-3 in the Pioneer Bowl.
