Official Golden Flash - Post Turkey Day Thread
Most likely playing for pride but still an outside chance to sneak into a bowl with a win.
Kent State sits at 3 - 8 and is coming off a blowout loss to Bowling Green. Defense is ranked in the top half of FBS but their offense struggles. It looks like they have a Julian Edelman clone at QB. Last meeting was in 2014 and NIU barely got by them despite finishing 11 - 3 and Kent going 2 - 9 that season. No clue how this one plays out.

I'll probably watch a little of this while munching on a turkey sandwich for lunch. Then it's off to do my Black Friday Christmas shopping at Ace Hardware.

Kent State QB Holley ruled out for Friday's game with injury. BG held Kent to 9 total rushing yards and Kent is already bottom 5 passing. Kent's D is good but NIU should be able to win this game.

One would think, but nothing is a given. Remember, we should have beaten WIU, too.

With Holley out, Kent has no chance. I saw a game with him and he was pretty good.

This should be an epic battle of bad QB play. I can't even find any information on who will start at QB for Kent State. We have Santa and then probably Ducee behind him? Ridiculous. NIU should still win by 10+...which means they'll probably get torched by some unknown QB and it'll come down to the last few minutes

Kent is ranked #44 in total defense right now in FBS but they are only #80 against the run. This should set up well for NIU. Agree though, this could be a tough one to watch.

Perfect summary of what most likely will happen. I will say we have more play makers than Kent, which if they take over like against EMU, it should be a blowout.

Tommy Mister is also an ex-high school QB so he could be utilized in an emergency.

I spoke with Carey and strongly recommended that he utilize NIU007 as our backup QB. NIU007 has years of experience slinging sh!t, so a football should be no problem for him. Before asking Carey, however, I asked him if NIU007 is in his doghouse. Unfortunately, he said that, yes, NIU007 is indeed in his doghouse because he has not effusively praised Carey and his bud JB. After I calmed him down, however, he agreed to use NIU007 as a backup - to JB, who will be backing up Graham this Friday. And you guys think we'll win??

Don't laugh, he'd probably use me at RB next year just so he doesn't have to play Huff.
