Blue Raiders ended up winning 80-70, and it looks a lot closer than it actually was. With 6:21 left MTSU had a 23-point lead. Toledo only cut the lead by more than half because MTSU took their collective foot off the gas and went deep into their bench. 11 different players played 10 minutes or more for the Blue Raiders.

* JaCorey Williams: 18 pts (9-13), 6 rebounds, 3 assists in 22 minutes
* Reggie Upshaw: 16 pts (6-11), 5 rebounds, 3 blocks in 23 minutes
* Giddy Potts: 9 points (4-6, 0-1 from 3), 6 rebounds, 3 steals in 27 minutes

Needless to say, Rockets fans aren't too pleased over on their CSN board. Toledo will get another crack at MTSU on Saturday in a rare two-game set against a non-conference foe. But first they'll face Evansville on Friday.

The MVC doesn't have a board on here. The C-USA and MTSU do, but the MTSU board hasn't had a post since August. They must post elsewhere.

Not sure how the turnout will be from Middle Tennessee this weekend. With it being Thanksgiving/Black Friday weekend, there's all that distraction for MT students and alumni and their families, and then on Saturday Senior Day for the football team in Murfreesboro. The football game starts at 4:30 so I doubt most fans will forego the last home football game for a game in Nashville Saturday night. With the focus on football, not sure MT fans are completely tuned into basketball yet.

TSU has a coach who's brought in a lot of transfers and got them playing well. As good a group of inside players as I've seen in awhile. They played like Michigan State was hyped to be. I think TnSU will win the OVC over murray state and belmont. Probably some overlooking the opponent as we had won the previous 11 games with them. We are replacing three starters to begin with and some guys are still learning what's expected. Kermit started a different lineup, larger, than what he had the previous games, and despite that, I thought our guys were content to stand around on the perimeter. MT played much better in the game with Toledo, Kermit was back to the original lineup of starters, and the team drove and rebounded much better.

Good news there! Guess it'll just depend on game flow/foul trouble.

Here is the quote: “Not sure what we’re going to do with him, but there is an opportunity possibly for him to play, but not sure if that’s going to happen,” Keatts said.

He's going to play. A little gamesmanship by Keatts. Also, a bit of a "parental" message to Talley letting him know "you aren't owed anything". I'm sure Talley is getting the message, and will be on his best behavior. All of this reeks of an attitudinal problem, and coach had to make sure Talley and everyone knew who was in charge.

If we have a good showing, and come out of this 6-0, I've got to believe we start getting some top 25 love.

I know its early but all 3 teams in this tournament are top 100 RPI. If we can win this thing it will help us down the line.

MTSU is not a very good team and UNCW should win this game. RPI means zero at this point, I am not sure why they even bother with it until teams play at least 10 games.

They were predicted to finish 2nd in their conference ahead of some other solid teams

Yeah, why would anyone think a team that beat Michigan State last year in the NCAA tournament, lost one starter and is picked 2nd in the CUSA is a good team? Mullet makes all the sense in the world with his statement...as usual.

Watch them play and let me know what you think-I think they are not very good at all. UNCW has to be favored to win this game. I really don't care about what college teams did last year.

Aren't you basing how good UNCW is based on what they did last year?

I live here and see them play-its a lot different deal.

No doubt I was wrong or UNCW played poorly.

Definitely a combination of both. IMO, the only blemish on MTSU's game tonight was their FT shooting.

The MOST disappointing stat to me tonight though, was how much our guards turned the ball over.

I'm not gonna second guess Keatts because he's done so much for UNCW, but why not put Talley in there? We were in foul trouble early and our guards were turning the ball over on what seemed like every other possession. Talley, if he's good at anything, it's taking care of the ball.
