Do you guys think we'll (Tulsa) be ranked if we beat Cincinnati and win our bowl game?

Navy should be in the top 25... only losses are to 8-3 Air Force (rivalry game) and 9-2 South Florida, both on the road.

Should be but they wont. Wether people like to admit it or not navy beating ND by only one point hurt them in the eyes of voters.

True it would also essentially make the P5/G5 thing meaningless becuase everything would be equal other than autonomy and the money.

The BCS and now the playoff system is how we got into this problem. The solution isn't to go further into the mess, it's to back away from the mistakes we've made.

IMHO, we should do away with the conference tie-ins (with the exception of the historic bowls like the Rose bowl) and make all the bowls "at-large."

Well that's the real problem.

If you give the Rose Bowl an exception then the SEC is going to come and say why do they get an exception? And the ACC/Big12 will do the same. Thus you have contract bowls.

Yup an expanded playoff is the ultimately the best route to go.

Like Tom Herman said there is a huge double standard. Houston should be in the top 10.

Limited tie-ins and the bowl system worked well for a long, long time. However, if we are no longer capable of restraint and discretion, and we have to do away with all tie-ins to kill this recent P-5 monstrosity, then so be it.
