Tubs and His Fall Guy - Zach Taylor
Tubs has no stones. He is the one who hired what now appears to be an idoit.

Has there ever been a worse hire than Zac Taylor? But then he silently accepts being under the buss for the true idiot.

Why not Kiel?

Sophomore quarterback Hayden Moore started Friday night. Some UC fans voiced displeasure on Twitter, wondering why fifth-year senior Gunner Kiel did not start on Senior Night. Coach Tommy Tuberville had said Moore and Kiel would compete for the job last week in practice. Tuberville postgame: “Zac (Taylor, offensive coordinator) felt all week long that (Moore) was the guy that could get the job done. We talked about it every day after practice, and he felt like he was doing better at practice.”

It's still my belief Gunner expressed his dislike for Taylor's offense from the get go and Taylor has been out to screw him whenever possible.

And yes to the question on Taylor being the worst hire by UC since Ed Badger in basketball way back when!

RE: Tubs and His Fall Guy - Zach Taylor
Zac's resume:

"On January 30, 2012, Taylor was named assistant quarterbacks coach for the NFL's Miami Dolphins. He was previously an assistant coach at Texas A&M, serving under former head coach Mike Sherman, his father-in-law. On November 30, 2015, he was promoted to the team's interim offensive coordinator, after the firing of the previous offensive coordinator, Bill Lazor. During the five games Taylor served as OC, the Dolphins went 2-3 and averaged 17 points per game, a slight regress from their per-game average under Lazor, though Interim Coach Dan Campbell still had positive things to say of Taylor's performance.

Why Tubbs hired this moron I'll never know. If it wasn't for his father-in-law, he'd never had a job.

They both need to go so we can rebuild this program.

I blame TT for this decision. Again, TT shows no critical thought and hires a crony. We have been down this road in his first year. We do not have the oline to play a Sec/pro-style offense. In year one, it was dreadful for the first 5 games until we switched back to the spread. In year 4, it is dreadful. We recruit talented rbs and wrs. We had a qb that could deliver the ball, but he decides to win the battle in the trenches. He could care less about our results. If he stays on, he needs to be paid by the win.

Taylor will be selling life insurance this time next year.

Anyone who was excited by that hire, smack yourself in the forehead for drinking the kool aid.

Does Tuberville not attend practices so he can make his own decisions? Why doesn't he just sit in the stands with the rest the observers. His coaching would be more effective.

And what's this garbage about the cavalry arriving - according to the paper today his oral commits for the 2017 class are rated 9th in the AAC and 247 Sports ranks them 79th nationally. Let me repeat - 9th in the AAC. The only cavalry arriving that can help this football program is a new head coach/staff.

So if that ranking translates to on field performance we can expect to improve our position in the AAC.

no, but maybe he should at least have Zach take some video of practice and he could watch it himself when he is waiting for the Tee Box to open up.....just a thought

"Coach T is a legendary coach and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to lead one of the more dynamic and explosive offenses in the nation this coming year. We're going to turn some heads and make our fans and alumni proud. Coach has hinted that he may give me broader control over game planning week-to-week and having input on personnel decisions in order that he can focus on other important aspects of the team and recruiting."

I admit to being overly impressed by the NFL coaching experience.

Hopefully the next head coach has Minter's eye for assistant coaches.

I am with you also. Could not think of any other reason that he jumped on board of the SS Flubberville.

He was unemployed and just got canned by a terrible pro team after he got promoted with 5 games left since his boss sucked at his job.

That's why he was available and why he took the job. People flipped over him because the people who get paid to cover UC told everyone how great he was.

Come on, man! The guy is a Nebraska Cornhusker. From the cradle of offense.

I think the old 1950l -1980s Nebraska I formation would beat his pro-style.

RE: Tubs and His Fall Guy - Zach Taylor
On one hand, I want to be clear that a fall guy is not the answer as the problem is too deep (see the crowd Friday).

With that said, the main reason we are terrible this season is Taylor's offense is awful and has zero chance of being effective in 2016 college football.

I'm taking time off from this again. I just can't keep up with it now. It's the holiday season, and I need to save some sass and snark for the family get togethers.

Keep carrying the banner all by your lonesome bud! Don't let all these sheeple keep ya down.
