WMU-UT Winner has decent chance to be the G5 Access Bowl Rep
With Wyoming's win over San Diego State, if the winner of the Western Michigan-Toledo game wins the MACC, that team has a good chance of going to the Cotton Bowl.

In the AAC, only Temple (a three-loss team) and Navy (a two-loss team) have a chance. I'd think Temple would be OUT while a Navy team would be a candidate except they play Army one week AFTER the bowl decisions are scheduled to be made.

CUSA is very likely out, as probably is a two-loss Troy team out of the Sun Belt.

That leaves the Mountain West. If Wyoming wins at New Mexico next week, it's doubtful the winner of WYO and SDSU could overtake a WMU/UT candidate.

In summary, it's up to either Wyoming beating UNM or Boise losing at Air Force. Un-freaking-believable!!!

RE: WMU-UT Winner has decent chance to be the G5 Access Bowl Rep
I wouldn't say its unbelievable. The new CFP system has a lot of teams in contention because it requires a conference championship for a G5 team.

Any team with 3 losses is out of the conversation as long as there are teams with 2 losses out there.

Boise St. 10-1 (Need help with a Wyoming loss)
SDSU 9-2 (Needs to win final 2 games Col St, MWC champ)
Navy 8-2 (Needs to win final 3 games SMU, Army, AAC champ)
Troy 8-2 (AState has to lose twice)

Boise State doesn't control its own destiny and lets say they are not in the conversation.

The question then is would beating a Top 20 WMU team be enough for Toledo to stay ahead of SDSU and/or Navy? That I'm not really sure about.

It's too bad Ohio dropped a couple close games or they would greatly help the MAC in the access bowl conversation.

I would say SDSU would Very likely get the nod over Toledo. If Ohio didn't drop a deuce against that sh!tty Texas State team, nor losing to either EMU or @CMU -- I think what you say would be pretty darn close to the truth.

Given that Temple wins the AAC... Ways Toledo Could?:

#1: Wyoming wins out
#2: SD-State loses to Colorado State, but wins MWC (no matter who they play)

YOUR SCENARIO: SD-State beats Colorado State, and beats Wyoming to win MWC... but to be Considered, IMO:
+ Arkansas running the rest of the table on Sun Belt to win it (bigger win marker for Toledo) -- going 8-4
+ Cal loses to Stanford (playing now) and UCLA -- going 4-8
+ BYU beating Utah State (almost suredly anyway) -- going 8-4
+ Toledo THUMPS WMU, and also Destroys Ohio in revenge, while SD-State is in another barn-burner with Wyoming but wins this time

The AAC should have 3 ranked teams after this weekend. Houston is going to raise Navy and USF in the polls as long as they beat my Tigers. Sorry guys but the AAC is going to burst your g4 bubbles soon. Houston may even jump high enough to make a ny6 bowl anyway along with Navy 05-stirthepot

AAC may have three teams ranked but none of them will jump an undefeated WMU. Houston, Navy, and USF all have two losses. Additionally, neither Houston or USF are in control of their own destiny. Navy and Temple are currently leading their respective divisions. Temple has zero chance with three losses anyway.

The AAC has no, and I mean NO chance, unless a miracle happens. You AAC Fanboys really need to give it up. You are embarrassing yourselves on the Realignment Boards as it is07-coffee307-coffee307-coffee307-coffee307-coffee3

There's at least 5 teams in the AAC that would embarrass WMU07-coffee305-stirthepot

Well, I guess there's a chance they could. They've done a good job of embarrassing themselves so maybe it's contagious.

Look guys it's called the mercy ur I mean Marshall rule,ok. Your best team hasn't really beat anyone. You all know that the AAC has only lost 2/3 games all season to you other g4s, and as of right now our rpi has surpassed the big12 04-rock

Do you one single metric to support this statement? MAC fans could just as easily argue the AAC must be inferior because two of its schools were the dregs during their years in the MAC. Neither one even made it to a league championship game. In fact, Temple never defeated a MAC school with a winning record during the years they were in the league. Plus UCF lost every league game during the last season in the MAC.

You and most of your ACK brethren need to get over yourselves. [Image: bill-the-cat.jpg]

I like the MAC and I totally understand the importance of wanting to act as if you're equals with the AAC , but as cfb fans you all honestly know the difference ok. With that said if we get screwed out of the ny6 bowl I would like for it to go to WMU 04-cheers05-nono

Yeah, Toledo heard the same type of crap last season and beat AAC East Champ #24 ranked Temple 32-17 in the Boca Raton Bowl.

We covered this with the Boise fan a few days ago, but since you're new here, I'd be glad to bring you up to speed.

Marshall 2014 non-conference schedule: at Miami, Rhode Island, Ohio, at Akron. Of the four, only Ohio was so-so that year.

WMU 2016 non-conference schedule: at Northwestern, NC Central, at Illinois, Georgia Southern (defending Sun Belt champion)

Apples-to-oranges comparison. Next.

We have about half a dozen AAC "fanboys" on the NIU board. It gets really really disgusting how they make excuses for that conference and to what ends they go to support their AAC conference.

List of teams ranked 10-25 in the CFP that lost this week.

#12 Utah (28-30 Oregon)
#14 West Virginia (28-56 Oklahoma)
#16 LSU (10-16 Florida)
#22 Washington St (24-38 Colorado)

WVU and Utah might be out to the Top 20 after this week.

LSU out but replaced by Florida probably.

Most likely outcome is Houston jumping back in over all of the other g5s. Two top 5 wins and all07-coffee3

Really?

Are you factoring in a WMU loss somewhere say next Friday or in the MACC game?
