Tennessee tickets
Hope you got your tickets. Only single seats remain. Looks to be about less than 20 total left.

RE: Tennessee tickets
I wonder if they are going to have any controls in place for student tickets. I know a few students who are having their friends who are not sports fans log onto the new ticketing system and print off their student tickets for this game to allow the students to sell them (probably to UT fans). I hope they make the students show their ID along with the ticket when they come through the gates.

RE: Tennessee tickets
We have been following up with the ticket office about student tickets and companion tickets. My sister is still a student and wanted to get us a nice Christmas present. Michael White and the ticket office released a very misleading email to students when they announced UT tickets. The infographic stated in large print: GUEST TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR $10 (which is not the present case: they are waiting to see how many true students reserve tickets first, and there is no guarantee there will be guest tickets actually available subject to demand). I would like to see the AD have real information sent out to clarify.

The ticket office staff says at some point after the semester ends any unreserved student tickets will be made open to companions. Following that, any left will open for general admission. As the large student section (approx. 1/4 to 1/3 of the arena?) will be first come - first seated for appropriate ticket holders, anyone who feels like gambling on the wait can try their chances. You might get a great seat close to the UT bench (that's where I'd like to be to heckle). The true student ticket does state the student's name, and I would assume they will require ID. Shame on anyone who attempts to cheat the system or scalp profits that should go to this rising basketball program.

I got unnerved waiting on this confusing and uncertain companion ticket deal. If you call the ticket office, their best deal this morning was probably 3 seats together in the first row of Upper 20. That's upper tier, of course, but midcourt and probably an excellent view with no one directly in front of you.

My father can't handle stairs and is registered handicapped. I was able to purhase 3 midcourt handicapped seats around the walkway, $50 each and sure to be amazing seats for watching young Tennessee get its ass kicked. Anyone still in need of tickets, don't abuse, but if you have handicapped friends/family wanting to go or who might enjoy a Christmas present like so, there are plenty of handicapped seats around the arena (15 or so) ranging from $35-50. I was personally happy to support the team with $150 purchase.

GO BUCS!

I think students should absolutely get first dibs on those seats WITH ID. I seriously doubt though, that they will have people out checking student ID's before the game.

My sis's ticket has a barcode and shows her name. It would be pretty simple for them to scan the ticket and require student ID at the door, especially if they designate a student line for entry.

RE: Tennessee tickets
The game is on December 22nd. I'm sorry, but if one thinks undergrads will be in the area 3 days before Christmas, one has another thing coming. Get ready for all the season ticket holders (plus extra tickets bought) to be all ETSU. 2/3 of the upper deck, and 1/3 of the student crowd will be bleeding orange.

Sorry, but people follow that silly place. If you ask them where UT is, they'll tell you Nashville or Memphis. That's how blind this "passion" is.

I think you underestimate our fans. The arena was over 90% full with ETSU fans vs UTC. I think they will show up in big numbers for UT. Obviously, some UT fans have snatched up some of the seats, but I think we will do a good job of turning the place blue. Hope I'm right.

Will be surprised if many show up in orange. Yes there will be some, but nothing like the Lady Vols game a few days ago. The Lady Vols have almost a cult following. The UT men's team does not.

The Bucs will make juice of the big orange, and we all have a happy breakfast the next morning. I hope the Lady Bucs get their student tickets and popcorn!

Let's Blue Freedom Hall out! I snatched up some extra tickets last year and I am going to let some of my friends have them--on one condition. You must wear BLUE!!!

This is very true. This area probably has more Lady Vol bball fans than UT mens bball fans and I am not exaggerating.

Contest giving away 3 tickets to the TN game. https://www.facebook.com/WINJohnsonCity/...52193962:0

Looks like it's sold out/wait list only for the game from a check I just did on the site.

RE: Tennessee tickets
My season tickets never arrived so the ticket office reprinted my entire season set and they look like single game tickets. I wouldn't doubt it if the mailman dropped them off at the wrong house. I'll be highly pissed if some orange cladded person tries to sit in my seats that night with my original tickets.

That should be a fun discussion to watch. What section are you in, so we can watch for it? 05-mafia

RE: Tennessee tickets
I've been reluctant to post this, and only will do so now only with an extremely strong warning of "RUMOR ONLY".....

A friend of mine - generally *not* as well-connected as I am (and/or used to be) - told me about 3 (or more) weeks ago that he heard that they were going to move the game to the dome. I'm pretty certain that's NOT going to happen, but every once in a while this person seems to know something I don't, and that isn't public knowledge. He *has* known a few things in the past that turned out to be surprisingly right. I do not know the "source", but he has one.

Again, this is only one person's statement, and this person is NOT an ETSU employee, so I don't give it much weight, and neither should you all. I'm just saying that he 'heard' that, and that this person is honest, and not prone to just throwing stuff around.

So take this with several grains of salt, and let me be clear that I think it's a false rumor. It's just "out there" somewhere.

That said......it's not difficult to imagine IF said "waiting list" were to grow to a thousand or two people, those kinds of dollar signs may be hard to ignore.

RE: Tennessee tickets
Remember though, that the dome in its current configuration can only sit around 5600 people. Unless you put people on the other side of the dome. I know the women's game was reported to have 6200 there, but I have been told before that the dome in its current configuration only has 5600 seats. Would it be worth all that trouble for about 200 extra seats?

RE: Tennessee tickets
Dear lord, if there is any truth to this rumor, what a farce of revenue management. The Bucs need to play im Freedom Hall with new seats, restrooms, video board, and so on. If they want to chase $6-30K back into the dome, it's short sighted, short run greed and will compromise the most important event of the year to showcase the new FH. Pack FH full of screaming Bucs fans. Absolutely NO to the airplane hangar.

RE: Tennessee tickets
I paid $150 for the exact seats I chose at FH. Changing venue and seating arrangements, in pursuit of profit, is not ethical. If you want an exclusive event, stick to what you sold everyone that had the sense to purchase in advance. /end rant
