STR, St. Jude and in honor of my son....
As many of you might remember, I lost my son in a motorcycle accident in May of 2014. Well, I've been slowly trying to put my life back together and with the help of so many great friends and family I believe I am getting there.
For the past 6 years or so I have been involved in some manner raising money for St. Jude by participating in the St. Jude marathon weekend. Since my son's death., my family and i have started a non profit in his memory called DreamLikeWill Charities. We have not only given to St. Jude, but also have awarded over $11,000 in scholarship money, donated to The Focus Marine Foundation and to a local no kill animal shelter where he had rescued his 3 dogs.
Well this year I have decided to knock something off my bucket list and hopefully raise awareness and money for St. Jude. In honor of my son William, ( he, myself and my other 2 sons have always been big Cardinals and Tigers fans) on Saturday, November 26th, I'm going to get on my bicycle at Busch stadium and start my journey to the Fed Ex Forum. Here's a link to the press release and I also want to take a second to thank all of you for your support and kindness which you gave to me following the accident. GO TIGERS!!!! http://dreamlikewill.com/press-release/

I'm more of a runner than a cyclist, but while training for this I have really enjoyed riding. I have a Trek road bike.

God Bless you and your family. I submitted a match request for my company to match my donation to St. Jude's in your name. I wish I could have donated more as St. Jude's is one of only two charities I actively support

May you find comfort and peace. The actions you are taking are honorable and moving. I will donate what I can as I give to St. Jude's and Le Bonheur. They are both blessings for the world.

Wow, a truly inspiring story. Thanks for sharing. As the father of two boys, I cannot even fathom what you deal with on a daily basis. Good luck and best wishes.

Every parents worst nightmare, I can only imagine how I'd react to losing either of my kids. I'd likely have to be committed. The OP has my utmost admiration for turning a huge negative into something positive in honor of his son. I'd probably still be sitting in a corner oblivious to the world.
I came too close to losing my son once when he sustained a tear in his esophagus and I was beside myself for days. Thankfully God decided it wasn't his time.
