Visit your campus in VR!
I own an HTC Vive and Google just released a version of Google Earth that let's you fly around in it using your VR headset. I decided to go check out Marshall's campus and stadiums and these are some screenshots I took. It's impossible to explain what it feels like to move around a 3D representation but I still thought it was neat and wanted to share. If you ever get the chance to try it, I highly recommend giving VR a go.

RE: Visit your campus in VR!
I'm to this day, very curious about how the respective campuses of Conference USA schools look. I've only had the pleasure of setting foot on one other than of course, UAB... I got to see the Southern Miss campus for the first time in my life in November of 2014. Hope to get to visit them all in the not too distant future...One way or another...

Here is a decent video tour of ours:

And a map to help tie things together:

RE: Visit your campus in VR!
Sometimes when I have downtime at work I like to go to google maps, and I've gone to many university campuses, including most if not all of CUSA. This is more to see their football stadiums but while I'm there I "take a stroll" through campus. IT's pretty cool, and I can't imagine how cool it must be to use VR. Maybe this could extend into recruits, while it's not the same as actually being there in person they could see from a virtual standpoint what the campus and surrounding areas are like

Be a cool way to attend lectures for distance learning, too. Or for athletes that have to travel, could be like they were in class. Just have a designated student wear a live feed cam, so you see and hear what they do.

RE: Visit your campus in VR!
I'm hoping to record some video of it sometime within the next week in hopes that will give a better feel of what it's like. I would also love to be able to visit every stadium for our fellow conference members. Kinda like a chance for those that can't make it their stadiums to get a somewhat watered down experience of visiting their facilities. I had always been told it's impossible to describe what being in a VR headset feels like and after getting one, I agree 1000%.

I am unable to travel anymore to games but I would love to bring my setup down to the campus one day, set everything up, and give people a chance to try it out. If anyone has any questions about it please feel free to ask and I will be glad to answer the best I can.

I work for a General Contractor, and we have a Virtual Construction department. They use VR for clients and for PMs and I've gotten to try it out. It's one of those things where you just can't do it justice with screen caps, videos, or word of mouth. You really have to try it out for yourself to truly experience what it's like.

Which is also why I can't wait to get the Oculus Rift for PS4, I would love to see what VR gaming is like!

The space and underwater VR experiences are what I love the most. That said, I've tried some of the horror games and had to quit within 10 minutes LOL. It's an entirely different ball game when that zombie that is 5 feet from you is the same size or larger than you.

I plan on starting my virtual stadium tours of CUSA next week. With the holidays coming up I can't promise how quickly I will be able to get each one done but I will do my best. Hopefully you folks will enjoy them. Still unsure if I will narrate because I hate my own voice (but who doesn't). I will probably use YouTube's built in music so I don't get a copyright strike and have it taken down.

I just bought the special edition of Skyrim for PS4 so I can waste another 100 hours of my life lol, I would love to play that in VR.

That's awesome! I would love to see that
