Not much talent on the women's team.
I watched the matinee game last week.

Look at the easy way IUPUI arranged in that tourney:
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketb...ui-jaguars
They played @ E. Ky and then @UofM. Then stayed home for the two sub-regional games (they play Marquette TOMORROW after the rest of the tourney is over).
Compare that to our to Pittsburgh, to SMU, back to Ypsi then too Indy for two, including homestanding IUPUI.

No one should be too optimistic, the talent on the team is supposed to keep it close with the likes of SMU, and probably even IUPUI should be a win. But these were poorly scheduled games with a lot of drainage on the team.
So we will see if things get turned around at EMU when scheduled are a little more balanced. Will still need offensive plays for this to work. Especially since defensive is so often flawed

I have to agree 100℅ with Ramy.
Steve, you are really stretching an excuse too far to blame our start on the schedule. With Murphy we typically can count on two things: 1 ) Talented Basketball Players 2) Not very good coaching. I have accepted these two facts because it's better than watching less talented players and little coaching which we had with Barnes, Boone, and Ramsey.
These players are young and when I was their age, I could play 3 hours every day. I watched a short SMU team get back door dunk after dunk after dunk with no first half adjustment. Even if we played back to back games, we should not have been embarrassed by SMU. I won't even comment on getting throttled by IUPUI. We will have some thrilling victories and disheartening defeats and probably finish 9-9 in the MAC. We are the Bill Cubit of MAC basketball.

Gee, sports 101 - a very, very big effort esp. 2 OTs and then a long trip to Dallas and then a very, very good SMU team and no effect?
I doubt many in college or pro sports agree with you.
This isn't AAU summer ball or high school ball which is kid's play compared to playing collegiate ball at the highest levels.
