On one hand I'm impressed with Murray. But it amazes me how a school like that in a po dunk town can consistently get athletes and guards who can shoot the lights out but programs in this league that have better facilities, bigger brand awareness, etc., can't play a lick of basketball.

For those of you who are hoops experts what is behind this phenomenon?

They are only a basketball school so more money and resources go into basketball. I'd say the biggest reason is cause kids want to play in front of crowds. They actually have a crowd at their games.

It is all about identifying talent. Everyone gets caught up in the star system, and guys that are "athletic" and can dunk from the free throw line. That is all good and well, but if they can't shoot the ball they will struggle. I will give Murray props, they seem to be able to find some baller guards.

Murray is a good team because :

- TRADITION,emphasis on basketball; facilities, fan support, only show in town, track record of pro players(NBA,Europe),good recruiters, coaches who have moved on to big name jobs,etc.,etc..

They have got momentum and know how to keep it going.NO tolerance for mediocrity. This is their single FOCUS.
