Liberty may be a powerhouse. The school may network like BYU and Notre Dame, in the future.

Campbell, a Baptist school, is a much better school than Liberty. I would not be surprised to see Campbell trying to schedule Baylor.
Campbell has lessened the Southern Baptist influence in recent years. It is still there but nothing like it use to be.

At one time, you couldn't be caught kissing. It wasn't Bob Jones University strict but it was not too far behind.

But they allow camel humps 03-confused

Yes they have a nice basketball facility now. They hosted the Big South basketball tourny last year.

I was at a concert at Campbell with my wife about 20 years ago. It was Sawyer Brown. We were in our thirties. It was loud and when I leaned in to tell my wife something an usher actually thought we were making out and rushed over in a panic. I kid you not.

Back when I was in high school Jimmy Buffet did a show there. This was pre Margrettville, about 75 or 76. He did his first set and didn't come back out for the second. It turned out that the school wasn't familiar with Buffet's material and told him at the break not to play anymore songs about sex, drugs or alcohol. He told them that that's all he had and left. I kid you not. But the first set was very, very good.

They are in the Pioneer Conference which is non-scholarship. It 2018 they will begin offering scholarships and join the Big South in football. They are already in the Big South for all other sports.

This is a private school that is very aggressive in moving forward. In the last few years they have moved their law school to Raleigh as a preemptive strike, established engineering, medical and nursing schools. The football move is an indication that they understand how to prosper as a private school in difficult times.

Way to go! I think Mike Minter is still the HC. Glad to see that things are going well.

But they fit in well with the small privates of the AAC. Campbell Camels are the ball and the AAC is the glove. We need each other.

News yesterday that Campbell will be the home to a Class A minor league baseball team for the Astros for the next two years while they get a park built in Fayetteville! They will be called the Buies Creek Astros. This will have to be the smallest town for a pro team in the country. Heck Buies Creek isn't even a town, just a community. Now I'll have something to do close by, 4 miles, in the summer!

Congrats, that comment was almost as lame as your "Cheers!" signature.

Thanks for sharing --- sounds like something to check out while one can. I was about to note about Campbell's arena but you beat me to it.

I actually went to the first two rounds of the Big South tournament in March (Campbell hosted). Not a big arena but very impressed. Impressed with the school as well.

I hope you're joking, right? Adding UMass or ODU would kill Aresco's P6 narrative.
And Campbell make the American stronger?

Campbell in no way aspires to AAC membership. They would be completely overwhelmed. They are Big South level. I just wanted to share some info that I thought might be of interest to some folks about my local school. That is why I put the OT in front of the title. Once they get a full roster of scholarship players they might be looking to signing some early season sacrificial lamb games with AAC teams to improve their bottom line.

We just need to give them a chance. Give them a 2 year period to get up to D-1 level.

I'm assuming your post is "tongue in cheek" and not meant for serious interpretation. The idea of Campbell as an AAC add is, well . . Insane!
