Based on what?

You think their facilities are better than Nova, Kentucky, Georgetown, VCU, Old Miss, etc.?

Really... Vcu the gym is a shoe box, the facility next to it is nice but them gym where they play is awful

Rupp Arena is a dump, however their practice facility is unreal and has had million of dollars poured into it....Villanova is a private university and their home gym on campus is a high school gym....THey do play a lot their game in Philly where the 76ers play....As far as on campus, I would say WKU is definitely on par with the Gonzaga, St. Mary's, Villanova's of the world...VCU has a brand new gym the Siegel Center, so doubt its not nice...

It's not brand new. Built in 1999. And it really isn't that nice either. Was built as a multipurpose gym. Think retractable seating. It is a larger version of a high school gym.

Are you talking about just basketball arena or practice facilities and clubhouses as well?

Oh that place is a dump. I thought he meant brand new. But wku basketball facilities, locker room/clubhouse area, practice gym, etc, are top notch. I would put them above all but the top tier places.

Not sure what he's talking about. And I am in no way disparaging any other school.

But most of our coaches believe if they can get any kid on campus they have a shot.

Diddle Arena was renovated early 2000s and though the seating is nothing extraordinary nor nothing bad, the locker rooms and practice facility is as nice as anywhere. How much better can you make rooms after you achieve a certain level?

Same with football. We have coaches that have coached in P5 programs. They say our facilities are on par. Again, not the seating. But the players don't sit in the stands. They do use the locker rooms and weight training though.

As far as actual campus you'll be hard pressed to find a prettier college campus than Western. That's not the homer in me coming out. I've been to many road games. Seen many campuses. Western looks like something out of a movie.

Josh Anderson the recent 4 star hoop commit spoke about how beautiful the campus was to him. Aesthetics matter sometimes. Location does too.

Add in the fact that our outgoing president has put us in millions of debt re-doing every building on campus. It's a sparkling college atmosphere.

You can take virtual tours of the hoops and football training facilities and locker rooms but I have no idea where to link it.

None of this is saying we're a power. Just that our coaches in all sport believe if they get a visit they have a shot for multiple reasons.

I agree, the campus and arenas are certainly nice. I was thrown off by someone essentially saying they are the best. I mean, there are several examples, but places like Kentucky are insane.

I still stand by what I said. All but the top places we stack up well with. The behind the scenes facilities we have are a huge recruiting boost, not just this year but since they were redone a couple years ago all recruits have stated that it was a huge reason for coming.

I loved what Stansbury had been saying about our facilities. He said he recruited top players to Miss State and TAMU without half as nice of facilities that western has.

Probably was part of it. WKUs history and state of the art facilities help a ton. Plus you can ask who was the best player in the NBA? Stephon Curry and he went to Davidson. Don't need to play at a P5 school to be a super star in the NBA. Come to WKU and become a Hilltopper legend or just be another 5 star recruit fighting for playing time at a P5 school.

Lebron James is the best player in the NBA. Guess you didn't watch the NBA playoffs?
