Has anybody heard if our band is going to Western ? Love the band..

That's a great question. They'll be on break and I don't know what the school's budget is for taking the band to away games, especially since they traveled to Chicago. There's no doubt that it would provide a good atmosphere for the team.

Donations designated for the Rocket Marching Band can be made through the UT foundation. We have decided that we give enough to athletics. The RMB can use the funds and they certainly contribute a lot to spirit on campus.

As I recall, they are only budgeted for 1 road trip a season, and that was the Northern game. Of course, if a local sponsor were to pony up some money, perhaps arrangements could be made if it's just about the $$$. Then again, with it being on a week night, it may be an issue for some of the band members if they've already missed classes with the trip to Northern (they are given quite the same leeway that athletes are).

Or, maybe the Athletic Department is holding some funds back so that the band can travel to the bowl game?
