It means nothing, less than nothing. We're going to play harder in the first half than any team they've ever seen, and in the second half we're going to go harder still. I want to see the look in their eyes like 'What the eff is happening here?' You're the players to do this, and we're going to use a lot of you. You've worked hard and you deserve the right to play in a game like this. You also deserve to win it. Make sure you come off that court knowing that you did all you could to contribute to that effort."
yeah, I know no one talks like that -- but I just saw Hoosiers for the 900th time.
Sounds like pretty much what happened. Bravo.

If they do start gelling better on offense, this could be the best team we've had since last time we were in the tournament.

Taylor is obviously never going to even come close to improving, but what do the stats say about many of the others? Shouldn't they at least be trending upwards iover the course of 4 years? Just based on perception they don't look like they improve.
As you said, confidence is a large part and I agree. I always thought confidence was gained thru practice, lots and lots of practice.
I have not seen any studies. Do other programs take 50% high school free throw shooters and turn them into 65%? I honestly dont know.
It takes a lot of work.
Bazemore shot 47% his first two years at Old Dominion. Then shot 65% his last two years. It can be done, but more likely to see improvement with players that have smaller hands.

And if we had Michael Jordan and Scotty pippen we'd be the mid 90's bulls.

This defense is awesome. Its a pleasure to watch teams get fristrated bc they cant get open shots. If Talley gets going, we have the potential to be really good.
