2017 Football Schedule
According to fbschedules.com we have the following scheduled for 2017:

Fri, Sept 1 Boston College in DeKalb (The Friday before Labor Day weekend)
Sat, Sept 9 Open
Sat, Sept 16 at Nebraska
Sat, Sept 23 Open
Sat, Sept 30 at San Diego State

Regarding the openings on the 9th and 23rd, presumably one of those will be an FCS opponent and the other will be a MAC game. Hopefully both of those can be at home so we have three home games during nice September weather. I would much prefer the FCS game to be on September 9 so we don't have to play a conference game in week 2.

Other home games (dates TBD) are WMU, EMU, Ball State and at least one East division team. Other road games are Toledo, CMU and at least one East division team.

Regarding crossovers we should have a game at BGSU to complete our home and home with them. I'm guessing we also get Akron and Miami because we've played everyone else more recently.

Would they move the Boston College game To Rockford or Aurora?

Not to be a total downer but we may look back on this year as the glory days at 4-8 after next season. Next season could be really really really bad

RE: 2017 Football Schedule
There's no reason to ever go 4-8 playing in this conference. You should be able to beat your FCS opponent and go 5-3 in the MAC and make a bowl every damn year

RE: 2017 Football Schedule
What is really alarming to me is that we could go 3-9 or 4-8 and not do a single thing to develop any of the players that will be here next year. That takes extra great skill to pull off that incompetence.

This isn't remotely true. Have you seen who has been playing in the back 7 on defense? Even if he does suck, Graham will be here.

Isn't that mostly due to injuries?

No, SF wants the game in DeKalb on the Friday night for the national TV apperance in DeKalb.

RE: 2017 Football Schedule
At the season ticket holder event at Fatty's before the season started, SF told me that there was something in the works with ESPN for our 4th OOC game and he was waiting on them for the schedule announcement.

Who knows if this season has changed that though.

Ill give you that in the defensive backfield with the injury situation, but for the most part, this coaching staff has failed in a huge huge way to develop talent. If we do not at least see that with EMU and Kent, I give up whatever small small hope I have left.

I have no clue how Tommy Mister has seen only 3 carries this year, it is mind numbing.

So it might not be an FCS school?

As of the moment he told me that I would say that is correct...however after how this season has gone I wouldn't be surprised if that plan has been pushed aside for us to host a FCS team or maybe a 1-1 with a sun belt team.

We will see.

Okay, I just have to ask. Where would you play a D1 football game in either Aurora or Rockford? That thought sounds crazy.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I wonder who the team was. Especially since we had moved the USF game. SF def. does a lot more wheeling/dealing with scheduling that is much needed.

If the people won't come to you, you need to bring the product to the people.
There have got to be stadiums in the area that can hold 5-6000 people. After all, the students will be gone for the first game next year.
