Amazing what some kids can do when given a chance. Not sure which place is better right now us or Longwood. Good for him though getting a chance and playing well.

RE: Former Dragons Thread
Maybe it hits home for me more because I watched these guys play, but I think its awesome to see Spiker bringing in graduates to talk to the team. First one I saw was Jim Rullo in early December, most recently its Michael Thompson today to give some Palestra history and advice. I'm pretty sure there were some younger guys that came in too... Love it, keep those connections to the history of the program.

Damion is out for the year with an ACL tear. His season ends with a line of 17.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Wow! Damion's Bruiser Flint bad luck has continued to haunt him every year since graduating from Drexel.

Article on Damion's recovery effort
http://www.courier-journal.com/story/spo.../96664002/

Speaking of ex-Dragons that transferred to a southern school starting with L, Khris Lane has been playing at a high level for Longwood. He has averaged over 20 ppg in conference play including a couple of thirty point games. His 16.2 average for the season beats Damion's 16.1 for Louisville last year. Longwood/Louisville Big South/ACC pretty much the same right?

All kidding aside, it is nice to see him doing well after playing sparingly his first year here, his main contribution having been firing up the pregame huddle.

Forgot to mention, saw Chuck Guittar at the Delaware game. The young guys aren't going to remember Chuck, but he was a solid part of the 1996 team that beat Memphis in the tourney. He transferred in and played two years for Herrion. I believe he's a high school coach in NJ.

RE: Former Dragons Thread
This is more a story of a former opponent, but one a bit out of the ordinary.

As you might know, I live in rural Montana so most people around me have never heard of Drexel. I was talking to someone about their well and he asked me where I learned about hydrology. When I told him I studied at Drexel, he immediately says - "Oh I know them, they were our big rivals" Turns out he played football for Lebanon Valley College. I'm pretty sure that is the first time I have ever had someone know about us because of football.

I'm watching Bill Herrion and New Hampshire as they try to pull off the upset against undefeated Vermont on ESPNU. I'm still struggling with seeing Herrion as such an old man. I think he was the youngest coach in college basketball when Drexel hired him.

For those not suffering from PTSD, an article on Bruiser and what he's been up to.
