We'll make the NCAA tournament like we always do. No promises once we're there though.

RE: Rank the hoops teams
It appears that most everyone's opinion that UConn is unrecoverable this season? I've seen the scores also but just find it hard to believe that they fell this far this fast. I suppose the best witness to it all is the quietness of the fanbase.

I don't think UConn is done... The problem is my bet is UConn doesn't start turning it on until league play and at that point just become a team spoiling bids by beating the upper tier but not having a strong rpi/ooc to help themselves get in much the way they were back in 2014. With the conference tournament in Hartford they will always have a chance

Oh. I thought you guys lost a game last week. Also beating basketball cupcakes isn't nothing to crow about.

Great post. UConn is going to hurt the league with what they've done OOC and what they're likely to do in conference. It will probably be best for the league at this point if they just stay down all year. Or just stay down all year and then win the conference tournament to get us an extra team.

See things have a way of leveling out. ECU is down in football but heading to the NCAA tournament in hoops.
Cheers!

RE: Rank the hoops teams
Lots of worry about the AAC's flagship basketball program on here. Anyway, here is a brief explanation of what is happening (to calm your fears about this conference's NCAA unit breadwinner):
UConn lost newcomers Alterique Gilbert to a shoulder dislocation and lost Terry Larrier for the remainder of the season due to an ACL tear - those injuries are huge and they won't help UConn win in the short term. Regardless of those losses, this team was (and is) essentially Amida Brimah, Rodney Purvis, and a bunch of freshman. The bad news is that the learning curve will be steep without our best newcomers suited up. The good news is that our remaining freshman will now be fully utilized this season and will gain on ton of playing experience. Also, while UConn loses Brimah and Purvis next season, we have another top recruiting class coming in to join our current freshman. So, we are loaded for the future and ready to keep this conference in the NCAA Tournament bid conversation.
UConn fans aren't on here that much now because we really don't worry how this team fares this season. At best, this was an Elite Eight type of season (and it could still be a Sweet Sixteen season if our players gel with a bit more experience). Either way, NEXT year is the season that we are awaiting. If we have a competent big man, that will be a national championship type of team. In the interim, all we can do is wait and support our young team.

Vegas likes the Coogs tonight in Baton Rouge. Hopefully our dominance over the P5 continues from the gridiron to the hardwood.

I'm not even certain I'd rank ECU over USF, we've just had the pleasure of owning the MEAC.
