Huskies @ Huskies
Game at UConn tonight. Televised on SNY and ESPN3. After UConn's loss on Friday I was expecting NU to be around 8.5 point dogs but the Vegas line is at 13. Let's see what we can do!

Can't wait to see these guys play after I missed the season opener.
Did Jeremy Miller put on some muscle this off season?

RE: Huskies @ Huskies
UConn pretty disorganized but NU in a scoring funk right now. Good start though, I like the aggressiveness towards the basket even if their big guy has 4 blocks already.

15-8 NU at the 12 min timeout.

RE: Huskies @ Huskies
A bit of a wild half, UConn playing real fast. We are doing a good job a limiting good looks inside by UConn. As good as out post up defense has been, our rebounding has lacked, but it's not surprising.

I love how twice UConn took the lead and we never panicked. Played our game and stayed in it. I feel like those are times in the past where we get blown out.

Have to say though, UConn isn't a great team. They have some good players and might work together later this season, but they are disorganized now.

TJ Williams is awesome. Some decent shooting by us and hot and cold by UConn. NU up 4 at the half.

EDIT: Looked up the stats, shows what I know, we are actually outrebounding UConn. Guess it's easy to dwell on the negatives. TJ's stat line is 8-5-5 right now.

I feel like there are a lot of late whistles this game. NU up 5 at 12min timeout, nice response to the 9-1 UConn run to start the half.

5 point game with about 3 minutes left. UConn ball. Let's do this! Lots of toughness tonight, need 3 more minutes of toughness.

Yay! Big win. UConn is not a great team, but this is still a nice win. Very ugly at the end there, almost gave it away multiple times, but facing the press is something we can work on through out the season.

Impressed with TJ and Green tonight. Gresham had a nice night as well. Murphy has a ton of confidence and rebounded well. Awesome job! 64-61 final score.

Great win for a young team! Shot badly but made up for it with hustle and defense. Congrats to Anthony! Still a long way to go but looks like he'll help this year.

RE: Huskies @ Huskies
We FINALLY snap the losing streak to UConn! Hadn't beaten them since the 1985-86 season which was Calhoun's last year at NU.

TJ is playing with a ton of confidence and leadership.

Green was good tonight. He showed more toughness than Miller that's for sure.

Murphy made a major bonehead play at the end, but his rebounding was big despite an off shooting night.

Red and TJ make a solid backcourt.

I REALLY don't want to lose at bu. But I agree, must win at least 2 out of 3 this weekend.

Look for Sajon, Marshall and the freshmen to get good minutes vs Maine and LIU-Brooklyn.

UConn is young and a bit discombobulated right now, but I still think they will be a NCAA tournament team at the end.

Wiz.....first of all, congrats on calling this game "winable." I mean, I know that you're more of an optomist than I am but UCONN is loaded with four star recruits and I'm just glad that I didn't post that you were delusional. I am officially upgrading my NU prediction to...........middle of the pack.

Hey man when you have a PG like TJ playing this way and a 6-8 225 lb former 5-star recruit, both in their final seasons, it's a foundation for a good team.

Now if Miller can play well on both ends and Gresham, Begley and Green continue to contribute I think we'll surprise a lot of people.

RE: Huskies @ Huskies
We know he can drive to the hoop, but if TJ can keep up the good shooting, I agree we are looking at decent year.

If Miller can get stronger underneath and work on some post moves, he'll be awesome.

I wished Green played more last year, but I'm feeling pretty optimistic about him after this game. A bit shaky at first but really played well as the game went on

Former Pitt center Bobby Martin is on the staff and his role to to work with the bigs, his impact has affected Green. Green lost 15 pounds and plays with some toughness inside.

Miller is still an offensive minded player. Maybe by next year he'll play more back-to-the-basket. But he'll never be a monster in the paint.
