I'm not even the original person that brought it up. I just agreed with another persons opinion. IDK why every OU fan seems to be in denial about how weak it is.

I will leave it at this. OU a few games into this season has looked like the best team in the MAC this year so far, but so many times I've seen the best team get upset in Cleveland and have to settle for the NIT. I've witnessed 1st hand a 26 win Akron team playing a comparable schedule not only miss the tourney, but not even get a home NIT game. If OU does finish the season strong, falls short in Cleveland, and gets left out of the tournament I better not see any of you OU fans currently defending OU OOC schedule bitching.

Ohio has definitely not left itself any wiggle room. They can't do what Akron did that year and lose to a couple of bad teams out-of-conference and end up with 7 losses total. But I doubt Phillips goal was to get an at-large bid when he put the schedule together. The schedule is designed to get the team ready for MAC play IMO. Every team except for Georgia Tech and Milwaukee is picked in the top half of their conference. And both of those teams won 20 games last year. With 5 of your 9 man rotation either freshman or sophomores you need as much experience against MAC level teams as you can get. The way I figure they can't afford any more than 4 losses and still have a shot at a bid. I don't really expect them to come anywhere near that though. The road games against Marshall, Iona and Western Kentucky are going to be tough games to come out with W's in. Ohio is good and could be really good if the young guys develop over time but with so much youth there are going to be hiccups along the way. That and the MAC has had a lot of good hires recently so there aren't a lot of nights off.

Any BG fans watching the ESPN3 stream of the Murray St game? BGSU looking good, but what the hey is up with this broadcast team. I swear Im not sexist but there is a female announcer that is just bad to say the very least. Ive never heard anything like this broadcast.

I don't see an at-large bids in the cards.

The realistic goal for Ohio this season is to have a better season than last. That could mean winning the MAC regular season title or making the NIT. At the very least more wins than last year. NCAA's are very possible but would be gravy.
