RE: Make NIU Football Great Again
Based on your list, looks like the mediocrity will continue...

RE: Make NIU Football Great Again
1) Replace Carey
2) Upgrade stadium
3) Improve efforts to market NIU football and change the culture at the school
4) Team has to deliver (i.e., don't get blown out in every bowl game, or lose against every high profile opponent like we did against OSU last year)

If the Huskies win their last two games, and they probably will, then Carey stays for at least one more year.

If he plays the young guys and they win, he has a a chance.

How many MAC teams have peaked, gone to Detroit, then crapped out the next year? What happened to the 2016 Huskies is not unusual. They have a shot at rebounding and going back to Detroit in '17. For Carey to get bought out and fired, it would take two more years of mediocrity, or an even worse team in 2017. Either way, he has at least one more year.

I would call 2015 not a good season as the tail end of the season you could see the downward fall. I think the remainder of this season means nothing for Carey and he will be back. If he starts 0-3/0-4 next season he will be fired then is my guess.

RE: Make NIU Football Great Again
We definitely did not peak in 2015, through a unique set of circumstances we stumbled backward and managed to limp into the MACC. The ship was already going down at that point as far as I'm concerned, and I don't see any way we improve in 2017. Graham does not appear to be the QB that will lead us to success. I'd say someone else might step up, but we all know how stubborn Carey is on sticking with certain players. KG, who was basically our entire offense and the reason we actually won a few games this year, will be gone. I suppose the only hope is that a few young players really step up, but again without a serviceable QB the outcome is pretty bleak. Probably looking at .500 season at best.

I am not at all sure that NIU can beat EMU this year. EMU is on the rise, NIU not so much.
