RE: Men's basketball season opener
The announcers keep saying Rice is in Dallas. I can forgive getting some facts wrong, but that's pretty egregious.

Indeed! A Rice PR person should talk to him at halftime ... and also remind him that we're a Top 20 university academically.

46-40 Rice halftime lead. Nice!

"Game was slowed down by 36 free throws in the first half."

Yea I heard something about a relatively small school not well known in the South.

BTW, Rice 46-40 at the half. We look fast and athletic, much more so than I have seen the last couple of years.

Good half despite not shooting well at the beginning. Pretty good defense most of the half. Glad to see Egor getting some good looks at the end.

Good marketing tool: JMU's basketball videos are offered online free of charge "all season long" by a couple of corporate sponsors and the JMU Alumni Association.

Just sent a tweet to JMU and RiceBB - may or may not do anything.

It worked...and generated another mention of Rice baseball, which seems to be the only thing they know...they mentioned WG and his 'many many CWS appearances'

Excellent! He did apologize saying, remorsefully, "Rice is from Houston. Of course I knew that!"

Good in that it might increase interest in program and build fan base. Bad if some stay at home and watch instead of going to the game.

And the view of the downtown skyline from Reckling....good grief....even on telecasts that mistake is prevalent.

Jackson is feeling it.

Adams with four fouls now. I hope we get some sort of update on Evans soon.

And Rice goes up by 16. Wow.

At with ~11:35 left in the game he mentioned you specifically ... thanking you for the Twitter contact ... and mentioning our "Top 20 academically" status. :-)

Well done, NYNightOwl!

Up by 16. For the first time since the '14 Hawaii Bowl we seem to have a big 2 team that's relevant. Been a long wait.
