Although a Keon Howard fan, the Munz write up on his performance is priceless..
"Keon had a solid performance against Really Old Dominion with 98 yards rushing and 245 yards passing...He did, however, fumble 4 times which led to 4 Monarch touchdowns"....
Maybe it's just me...

Seriously, I was not aware of any ball control issues during Keon's HS days. I'd like to think he was just trying to play his azz off and make a statement. Young players do this all the way into the nfl. I hope they give him quality reps now and start him against NT as well. Beat them, gain confidence and give us all something to look forward to against Tech. Since I couldn't SEE what the fumbles looked like, if it's holding the ball improperly, that can and should have already been coached up. Now I'm losing faith again...nevermind.

...he wasn't tucking the ball properly in the crease of his elbow and he ran with the ball in the wrong arm most of the time....coaching issue there.

I had a stream. The INT was not so much his fault as it was stone hands by the receiver.
The third fumble I saw was because he held the ball like it had bicep-infecting cooties and he was asking to get it slapped out of his grip. I had a clear view on that one but not the others. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason for the previous ones.
That said, the kid has talent in spades. All of those issues can be coached out of him. He looked brilliant at times but stone cold lost at others. As Patty Magee tweeted, He had 150 yards rushing in the 3rd quarter and 98 when it was over. The kid has to learn how to get rid of the ball.
The safety he took was a microcosm of his day. Instead of doing, well anything, with the ball in his own endzone, he stared down one receiver, made a sandwich, did his taxes while others were running wide open short, and got clobbered.

..he's a freshman kid. first start at an away game.....he didn't even know he was starting until a few hours before the game...cut the kid some slack...he's got talent but he was hoppin round like a cat on acid out there he was so nervous...he needs coaching...He wasn't anywhere near ready to start a game.

ODU fan here. I just wanted to stop by and say although it must be a tough loss for you guys, Howard scares me. I think you guys have a QB that given time to mature and grow, he could become a force to be reckoned with. He's got a great arm and can run like the wind.
Also, way to give me anxiety in the 2nd half. From my view it was becoming a ball game. Good luck on the rest of your season!

The interception was just comical. Jones got both hands on the ball and made a hot-potato lateral to the defender behind him.
In the game thread, I mentioned that my parents were at my house watching the game with me, and my mom's reaction was, "Did he do that on purpose?"

..then he missed another easy one to get us a first down around the ten..and he started pounding the turf like a child.....Hop finally benched him. I think that's the last you see him on the field this year.

The only acceptable reason for him playing again is if the next guy on the depth chart was born blind and with no arms.

I mean I hate seeing him on the field dropping balls and hope he doesn't play another snap this year. But I can't blame him for getting mad and reacting accordingly. The kid has dropped like 12 passes in the last 5 games. I'm sure it's wearing on him mentally. He's not a good receiver and I'm glad we benched him, but I do feel bad for the kid.
