Flemmings just scored his first points. Imagine what we'll do tonight if/when he gets hot.

EKU is getting into a better rhythm. I don't think we are going to blow these guys out but we are looking pretty good so far.

Love love LOVE Cacok's ability to run the floor. Very athletic play to score a layup on the run there.

Nope, they're a scrappy bunch and won't let us run away with it.

That being said we left a lot of points on the board and are still up 10. It felt like we outplayed them by a lot more than that, and that bodes well for the 2nd half.

RE: Game 1 - @Eastern Kentucky
Key halftime stats:

FG's

EKU: 7-24 (.292)
UNCW: 16-36 (.444)

FT's

EKU: 8-9 (.888)
UNCW: 0-2 (.000)

3-PT FG

EKU: 2-6 (.333)
UNCW: 2-10 (.200)

Rebounds

EKU: 17
UNCW: 22

Points off Turnovers

EKU: 4
UNCW: 10

Bottom line: We have to get to the stripe more. We're settling for threes a lot of the time and need to slash to the rim more. Meanwhile, we have to avoid the costly handchecks on defense.

Bryce leads all scorers with 9. I imagine he'll end up with 20+ by the end of the night. Would it surprise anyone if he ends up among the top 3 scorers in the CAA this year?

RE: Game 1 - @Eastern Kentucky
One problem: Bryce, Ingram and Mosley each have 2 fouls. Gist has 2 for EKU and really struggled in the 1st half (3 points on 1-6 shooting, 1 assist, 3 turnovers).

Meanwhile, a little west of where the Seahawks are playing, in Louisville, W&M trails the Cardinals 44-31 at the half.

Northeastern LEADS UCONN in Storrs, 35-31, at the break.

RE: Game 1 - @Eastern Kentucky
Not a great start to the half. Mayo with an easy dunk and Gist with an "and-1" to cut the lead to 5.

Defensive intensity picking up. Too much one on one.

RE: Game 1 - @Eastern Kentucky
Lead back up to 7, our ball after the under 16:00 media. We're attacking the rim more, as expected!

Bryce, however, picked up his 3rd foul.

Bryce and Mosley have 3 fouls apiece. Ingram and Richmond with 2 each. Handchecks continue to be the point of emphasis in this game. EKU has been called for several as well.

Ingram with a big 3. EKU is chipping away. We needed that. Back up8

RE: Game 1 - @Eastern Kentucky
Lead back up to 10. Beautiful alley-oop flushed by Cacok and then a quick turnover and layup got us there.
