Also around the AAC, Jacksonville State whipped Tulsa 84-73.

Texas squeaked by ICW, would be nice if that dropped them out of the AP25 and gave us a spot, I know that's not how it works though.

UConn's loss should do it.

I think I'd be happier if the conference standard bearer was winning in November. The AAC needs non-conference wins to build credibility; especially from the bottom of this league which has been dreadful. I'm no Huskies fan but I don't see how UCONN losing last night really benefits UC in the long run.

Exactly. Most aren't paying attention to college basketball until after football season. Far more important to have a strong conference than to move up a spot due to UCONN losing.

Agree 100%. Too many people saying "We might break into the Top 25!". Top 25 in November means nothing. I'd rather the AAC be considered a tough league and get several bids at the end of the year.

Tulsa losing to Jacksonville St don't help either.

At what's point do we start questioning Kevin Ollie?

Yes he won the National Championship. But that was in large part to the unreal play of Shabazz that March. Who was a Calhoun recruit.

He followed that season with an NIT appearance and if it weren't for a full court miracle shot could have easily missed the tournament again last year. Now starts off the season with a home loss to Wagner.

Oh, I've never been impressed with Kevin Ollie as a coach. Hate watching UConn games because there are 5-10 shots of Ollie almost in tears pleading with the refs each game.

Indiana and Kansas played a great season opener.

Uconn doesn't have many OOC resume builders and they are all away games. @Gtown, @ Ohio St, and Cuse @ MSG. Also have Oklahoma St. in Maui. Losing to Wagner could reemerge come March.

Didn't Lehigh beat Duke in the tournament a couple years ago and then lose to X? They may have just run into a good team. I don't know their roster much but for losing both of their big guys their ranking seems high to me.

RE: College Basketball Week 1
UConn continues to under achieve in the regular season only to win come tournament time. Its week 1 but I would I am going to guess that UConn finishes somewhere between 4th and 6th in the conference only to make a run in the conference tournament in Hartford to steal an NCAA bid. I actually have UC winning the league with a record no worse than 14-4 and more likely 16-2 or 15-3. SMU, Houston, and Memphis will finish ahead of UConn, maybe Temple too. Tulsa was suppose to be bad this season, the key for the conference will be the improvement of UCF, USF, ECU, and Tulane. That group doesn't have to be tournament good but if most of them can get between 75 and 150 in the computer metrics then UC's conference schedule won't look so bad.
