Well, to my shock GT lead wire to wire pretty much against the second best team out of the Ohio Valley.

State got one of their two new big men back today. Kipita have a great game. Seven more games before the Turk gets into the action. When all the pieces are in place this is going to be a team to be feared.

Clemson looked pretty good against Georgia on Friday. think they may be going to the big dance. a transfer from Robert Morris had 20 or so..

Losing to a MAC team in a mostly empty Arena. Sounds about right.

Pitt-Marquette was always fun in the big east so I was glad to see the rivalry renewed and a Pitt win.

Of the KenPom top 10, 5 of the teams reside in the ACC

1. Duke
4. North Carolina
6. Virginia
7. Louisville
8. Syracuse

All ACC teams are in the top 70 except for GT and BC. GT will soon get in the top 100.

RE: Open Thread -- 2016-17 Men's Basketball
State won their first game in the US Virgin Isles tourney against Montana. They are playing shorthanded as Katika had some passport issues so he didn't travel. They are in the "US" Virgin Isles so I'm not sure why it matters but whatever. Rowan who has been starting didn't play but may on Sunday. He is recovering from a concussion. The Turk is still six games from being able to play, and just four after this tourney. I don't know if this is a positive as more players are getting experience and having an opportunity to prove themselves or a negative because it is delaying the development of team chemistry.

Almost hard to believe Pitino is starting year 16 for UofL. Since 1944 (73 years) we have had 4 coaches and one of them was for only 4 years before having to retire due to health (had been assistant for years before that). Hickman for 23 years (44-67), Dromo 4 years (67-71), Crum 30 years (71-01) and now Pitino 16 years (01-17).

ND is 5-0 and just beat Colorado and Northwestern to win the Legends Classic at Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, NY.

It looks like Mark Farrell, while not in the class of Jarian Grant and Demetrius Jackson, can handle the point guard position for ND.

Who came up with this stupid, F'd up schedule in the Battle 4 Atlantis? Louisville played at 9:30, the 4th & last game of the day, & finished after midnight after playing OT. Their reward for winning is a 2:30 tipoff, second game of the day, against Wichita St of whom played in the early season on Wednesday. So Wichita St gets about a 24 turnaround while Louisville gets almost 14 1/2 hours. Why do the losers get the night session? This is crazy!

Louisville beat Old Dominion 68-62 in OT.

I think ND is the fifth best ACC team this year so far and should be ranked in the Top 20.

Great respect for Coach Brey and how he continues to find a way to win.

Cheers,
Neil

The answer to your question is obviously a combination of TV and Thanksgiving.

It's definitely tv, with AXS & ESPN wanting Louisville & Michigan St games. AXS airing the night games on Wednesday & Thursday while ESPN is airing the early sessions on Thursday.

It looks like the Heels are going to be pretty good this year, they were beating Wisconsin by 20+ in a Badger induced slow down game to win the Maui tournament. The final margin was 15.
We'll know for sure soon. Carolina has games scheduled with Indiana and Kentucky within the next three weeks.
Go Heels!
