Did not look like that. Maybe they're making up for the crowd-suppression totals from earlier in the Pumpkin-Poko Era.

It was a decent crowd last night. If UAB can average close to 6,000 in attendance this season that would be remarkable! However, I expect it to be between 4-5,000.

As far as the team goes, the talent is there to win CUSA but I don't see them matching last year win total. This could be a 22 win type of ballclub. I see some concerns though and none of them are related to Nick Norton.

1. Suspect low post game. We'll miss Sullivan in this regard and Cokley will have trouble getting his shots off against taller, more athletic low post players. It showed last night.
2. Dirk Williams looks too confident. Needs to rein it in a tad and slow down.
3. Lee is too passive. Needs to be assertive on the offensive end.
4. Darling looked nervous but I suspect the more he plays the more comfortable he will get.
5. Our 3 pt perimeter D. It didn't look good last night particular in the 2nd half.

In my opinion this team will struggle in OOC play. New coach, new offensive and defensive schemes, I think predicting 20 wins is spot on for this club right now. I like the athleticism and our guard depth but I think we take a step back this season. Just my opinion.

UAB went 26-7 last season, playing an extremely weak OOC schedule. This season's OOC schedule is much more difficult, although you wouldn't know it by the first three games. If UAB can win 22-24 games, it would be a fantastic season. A 20-21 win season would still be good.

Yep. Let's keep things in perspective. Sheer quantity of wins means nothing in college basketball.
