Exclamation 2 of top 4 CFB divisions!
[Copied with permission from ACCFootballRx]:

CBS Sports has this neat ranking of college football divisions/conferences. They use something called "Average Adjusted Scoring Margin"* that really puts ACC football in a whole new light:

Division Adj Margin
1. SEC West 15.1
2. ACC Atlantic 9.5
3. Big Ten East 9.2
4. ACC Coastal 5.7
5. Pac-12 North 5.6
6. Pac-12 South 5.5
7. Big Ten West 3.1
8. MWC Mountain 2.5
9. SEC East 1.7
T10. AAC West 0.4
T10. MAC West 0.4
12. AAC East -0.1
13. C-USA East -6.7
14. C-USA West -7.1
15. MWC West -8.7
16. MAC East -11.9

*Actually, Avg. Adjusted Scoring Margin is something Bill Connelly of SBNation came up with.

If someone told you 3 years ago that in 2016 two of the four strongest divisions in college football would be the ACC Atlantic and ACC Coastal... would you have believed them?

Interesting. But somehow it just doesn't feel like it even though this may end being the best year the ACC has ever had overall. I wonder what this list will look like at both the end of the regular season (including conference championship games) and after bowl season.

Cheers,
Neil

I played OL in high school. No game ever felt like a win while you're in the trenches.

Still, the ACC has some good ooc wins this year, without the usual bad losses.

Auburn and Penn State both look like good wins right now.

Beating Notre Dame like they stole something helps too.

Also, we aren't in the B1G. As an alum of a Big Ten school, I promise that's a win.

We're not a South Carolina Gamecock fans either. That's a HUGE win!

You spelled "Rutgers" wrong, but I see where you're going.

Ughh.. Look at that SEC East...

1.7??? Wow..

Also, some wonder why Washington was not in the initial top 4.

Good stuff ACC.

It's mostly the Great Plains and in the southwest.

Seriously though, there aren't any divisions in the B12 anymore. That's why it isn't on the list.

I figured they'd do it the same way as Sagarin by having the Big 12 be one division.

It would be interesting to see the MWC Mountain including BYU.

I'm wondering if BYU headed another airport meeting with 7 or 8 MWC schools if that would be beneficial. Select states without P5 representation plus maybe CSU and Air Force. SDSU pulls their own weight too. This would be like creating a new WAC and still allow BYU a national schedule.

BYU
Boise
Wyoming
USAFA
CSU
UNM
UNLV
SDSU/Hawaii

Sorry to get off topic. 04-drinky
