Our political system is so screwed up that we didn't have anyone that was in the middle, and I'll be darn if Oblunder was anything but extreme Left. Nor Killary.

I figured from the start he would move center. I did not though expect him to move establishment. His potential picks are not going to excite those that voted for the anti establishment candidate. He needs to continue to do what got him the win. Fck the establishment and bring in fresh blood and ideas. He is looking at the "same ole..same ole" IMO.

Ah yes, thus begins the dissolving of the Separation of Church and State. Should have known better, Mike Pence wants to turn the U.S. into a Christian Pakistan.

You have no idea how the Founders thought about the separation of church and state. They were against a state church, not the representation of Christianity in the government.

Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams disagree with you.

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people”. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
– John Adams

Jefferson was not present at the Constitutional Convention or not did he sign the Constitution. Yet he signed the Northwest Ordinance which states, "Religion, morality and knowledge being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind"

In addition, the wall separation statement was to reassure a Baptist group that a state church would not be established. Religion in those times in America referred to Christianity.

Ben Franklin called for prayers before meetings of the Constitutional Convention.

Quote:As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion...
-John Adams

Quote:I think vital religion has always suffered when orthodoxy is more regarded than virtue. The scriptures assure me that at the last day we shall not be examined on what we thought but what we did.
- Benjamin Franklin, letter to his father, 1738

Quote:The clergy...believe that any portion of power confided to me [as President] will be exerted in opposition to their schemes. And they believe rightly: for I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man. But this is all they have to fear from me: and enough, too, in their opinion.

-Thomas Jefferson to Benjamin Rush, 1800.

Boom!

ReallY? I didn't see that stat earlier. I heard that white college-educated females went for Trump more than they thought they would. (at least per Sky News).

I didn't see the hispanic vote increase.

Yeah, state sponsored genocide of LGBT people is 'real' to you...

It is..people do get murdered by the state for the 'crime of being Gay'. It is absolutely real. And its expansion was defended by the FRC using tens of thousands of dollars.

FRC's lobbying to defend Uganda's Kill the Gays Bill..

FRC's denials are a lie as they never proposed any substitution langauage and FRC is on record repeatedly supporting criminal penalties for being Gay in the USA and elsewhere. Do you really want 100 links to Tony Perkins and Sprigg supporting criminalization in the USA and elsewhere? Ask and you shall receive.

So nothing in this country... thanks.

You had no problem with Obama freeing hundreds of billions for Iran, despite them doing the same thing.... or the Clinton foundation giving them face time for their money, or Iraq or Saudi or China or Sudan or all sorts of other places

International politics are a ****** business.

Yeah, soooo glad Obama's election took care of racism, right?
