MBB: News about 2016-17 opponents
Season for most teams starts Friday, the 11th, though the Rockets start on the 12th. Here's another thread for schedules, game results or other news involving UT opponents.

Friday, November 11th -

Miami hosts Muskingum

Eastern Michigan at Pittsburgh

Bowling Green at Oakland

Northern Illinois at Indiana State

Central Michigan hosts Indiana-Kokomo

Western Michigan hosts Marygrove

Ball State at St. Louis

Buffalo at Niagara

Wright State at Southern Illinois

Evansville at Louisville

Middle Tennessee hosts Milligan

UNC-Wilmington hosts Claflin

Detroit hosts Adrian

Southeastern Louisiana hosts Millsaps

Loyola of Chicago hosts Alcorn State

Season has already started for Ohio Christian, which is 4-2. The Trailblazers defeated Shawnee State, Marygrove, Goshen and Concordia; lost to Bethel and the University of the Cumberlands. OCU next plays on November 16th.

RE: MBB: News about 2016-17 opponents
we'll get a good sense of the MAC right away. I think EMU is the team to beat and they open at Pitt. So, I'll get a sense of my prediction pretty fast. NIU is favored to contend and gets a pretty good Indiana St team out the valley at home to open. Ball St is improving and opens at St Louis who is down from their glory years on the early 2000s but still a competitive A10 team. Buffalo is at local rival Niagara and will try to replace their stud pg who transferred out. I don't like BG but I liked how Huger coached them up their first year. Will be interesting to see how they compete on the road against a solid Oakland program. Plus, Evansville who looks pretty good (we play them in that Nashville tourney) opens at Louisville and I always root against Pitino.

EMU isn't getting a lot of love from the press which I don't understand. Looks like they got some solid bigs to relieve their sophomore center and still have an awfully quick perimeter. I see them as the favorites in the West if not overall. Did that little guard from Oakland get any NBA looks? He was one of the most exciting players I've ever seen.

He's on the Cavaliers roster second round pick in draft.
