Men's Basketball Signee: Owen Hamilton
http://niuhuskies.com/news/2016/11/9/men...eriod.aspx

Quote:A native of Prescott, Wis., Hamilton averaged 15.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as a junior last season at Prescott High School, helping the Cardinals to a 22-4 record and the sectional finals. Hamilton was a Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division Three First Team All-State honoree and a First Team All-Middle Boarder Conference selection.

The 7-foot Hamilton shot 59 percent from the field a season ago and is rated as a three-star prospect by ESPN.com.

"We are so excited to announce the signing of Owen Hamilton," said NIU head coach Mark Montgomery. "Owen's size, work ethic and skill set has our staff ecstatic about his future in an NIU Huskie uniform. He is one of the most dominant post players in the Midwest and his teammates will love playing with him because he is all about winning. We are so happy to welcome Owen and the Hamilton's to our basketball family."

He's like TJ Lux with shooting range. Great get. We haven't had a big guy with that much upside in a while.

I disagree, he has slowly but steadily rebuilt one of the worst programs in D1. We are competitive in the MAC and have every opportunity to win our conference and earn an invitation t the big dance. It took a while to change the culture and to build credibility for the program bust he has done that and his predecessors did not.

I couldn't agree more, he is clearly separating himself now

instant impressions:
Playing against smaller competition- needs to clean up inside technique!
but, has a range! has a soft touch! Definitely has upside! Very happy to see him join the ranks!
Congrats to all!

Congrats to all!

Not fast, or a great or quick jumper. But he has some pretty good foot work on his spin moves. Can dribble in the open court. Pretty good passer. Should be a great addition. Tough to find agile big men in the MAC.

From the few minutes I saw he looked to have good hands. Anybody that's 6'10 or taller and has soft hands is a good get.
