Can we get rid of a few of those departments?

I know it isn't Cabinet .. but it's sorta related.

If Trump is really savvy ... he'd tap Judge Andrew Naplitano for SCOTUS. That's a VERY real and impactful olive branch to the hard line conservatives and libertarians. And Napolitano would be like Clarence Thomas 2.0 ... only even better.

Pribus is part of the problem.

At least Bolton is professional, though I agree with virtually NONE of his foreign policy.

Thiel ... not bad.

Agree on Pubic Rerinse. If Trump injects all these GOP establishment failures into key positions we'll know pretty early on that not much will change for the better, other than maybe getting rid of ObamaCare.

Priebus helped him. He will get a slot. He called him out in his speech.

Hearing Carson for Health and Human Services.
Chris Christie will get something.

I would like to see Education go away.

Veteran's Affairs should be either a subset of military or of health and human services, not a separate fiefdom. It hasn't worked well as a separate department.

I think we'll see him surround himself with advisors like he does with his companies. I think we're going to see a new way of doing the job. Then again I'm wrong and a complete buffoon.

Dunno. I'd have agreed a few months ago but he showed he could change on the fly. He fell into line and that's a huge reason both chambers of congress are still republican held. If he stayed on the sideline or sided with the never trump idiots Hillary would have won and would have a dem senate to ram through treaties and appointments at whim.

I just think the optics of putting the head of the establishment Republican party in an important Trump administration role is turble.

Now is not time to revert to rewarding the old guard.

I'll take the job for Secy of Education, and burn that ***** down within a month. Then I could move onto OSHA/Dept of Agriculture/and Dept of Interior and give them all a haircut they'll remember for decades.

I would agree normally, but damn, he had the hardest most thankless job in the world this last year and pulled a historic victory out of it like nothing since 1928 despite having to defend so many seats. Gotta be worth something.

I know that I'd choose Bill Isaac for Treasury, but he hasn't been on really anyone's radar since no one listened to him in 2007-08.

RE: Now for the Cabinet Picks......
Get the headcount in every department, broken down between administration in the DC area and operations in the rest of country. Cut the DC administrative headcount for every department by 10% per year until you cut it in half. Do the same thing with consultant fees, across the board.

Don't cut the field offices. That's where the benefits, if any, of any program are delivered. Cut the administrative overhead.

The three US counties with the highest average household income, and 7 of the top 12, are in the DC Metro area. That is absolutely nonsensical. There is simply no reasonable justification, because little or nothing of value is produced there.
