Wondering what everyone thinks about the MVP races so far? I know there is still much to be decided, but Is there a clear leader this year? Higgins and Henderson come to mind for Latech. White & Wales come to mind for WKU. Stockstill seemed like a candidate for the longest time. I've watched a handful of other games non WKU so far and have not seen anyone stand out. Thoughts?

Indeed. Higgins isn't the player he is without Trent Taylor. He forces defenses to account for him and that opens up Carlos Henderson for big games. You could say he makes those 2 other players better.

I believe Henderson is our MVP. So if we win the conference championship then he should win the award.

If Xavier Woods finished the season at the rate he has played recently he will definitely be in discussion for defensive POY or MVP.

Ryan Higgins, QB - Completed 226 of 334 pass attempts (67.7%) for 3,167 yds and 30 TD's in 9 games, and only 4 INT's. (And the INT last week against UNT hit Carlos Henderson right in the numbers. He simply mishandled it and made it look like he handed the ball to the defender.)

Carlos Henderson, WR - Ranked #4 in the NCAA (59 receptions, 1,168 yds and 15 TD's) a/k/a a "Touchdown Machine"

Trent Taylor, WR - Ranked #1 in the NCAA (98 receptions, 1,319 yds, 9 TD's)

All of these guys should be strong candidates.

Maybe Higgins since he's the QB and leader of the team. He's just been incredible this season.

Honestly, he deserves to be in the running. We looked like the worst team in FBS before he got the starting job. Now we look pretty damn respectable.

I don't see how it could be anyone other than Henderson and I'd love to see one of our guys get it.

Jaylon Ferguson for DPOY and Trent Taylor for MVP

Higgins has taken care of the ball. Against UNT, he was throwing to all the right spots and making great decisions. His stats are crazy and he didn't even play in our first game. There have been times his receivers bailed him out, but he helped his receivers by extending plays at times as well. HIGGINS!
