His stats are crazy and he didn't even play in our first game. There have been times his receivers bailed him out, but he helped his receivers by extending plays at times as well. HIGGINS!

They've bailed him out before, but last saturday was great. Very elusive. I feel like the recievers even let him down with a few dropped passes... and that INT.

Aaron Jones is having a decent year, but I wouldn't call it a conference MVP performance. For comparison puposes, LA Tech RB Jarred Craft is having a year almost as good as Jones. In fact, he's got more receptions and more receiving yards than Jones. Stats below.

Aaron Jones STATS

Jones does have 245 more rushing yards on only 13 more carries. That being said the league MVP is usually on one of the best teams. I'm thinking unless things change drastically it is Higgins.

I agree however if I had to start a team with the player pool in CUSA I would choose Jones. A lot of other factors with UTEP are holding him back. I was just making a point that MVP is most valuable player and Aaron Jones is certainly that. They don't win or compete without him. If Craft goes down at least Tech still has Higgins.

Jones won't be the first player to get drafted this year or next year from CUSA. He is a very good player but no where close to the MVP of CUSA.
With or without Jones, UTEP is still a 2-5 team. He doesn't change the outcome of UTEP team.
Tech is not the same team without Trent Taylor or Henderson. We lost to MTSU in the 2nd half due to Henderson injured in the 2nd quarter. Tech didn't score a single point in that 2nd half against MTSU. That the magnitude that Henderson has on the Tech team.
Because of it, I would say Henderson is the MVP of choice for me.

We scored 2 TDs in the second half.
Things just went wrong that game. Some offensive mistakes/penalties halted drives. One badly called PI penalty on defense extended MTSU's. Not having Henderson did make things easier to defend... then Taylor had a small injury on the last drive. And we had an unforced fumble on the like 2 yard line in the 1st half.

Just so we're clear, Jones has EXACTLY 76 yards more offense this year than Craft.
