College Football Week 11: Who’s Hot & Who’s Not
MSN News

Old Dominion

Just three years after becoming an FBS member, the Monarchs are bowl-eligible at 6-3. Even better, they’re 4-1 in Conference USA play after clobbering Marshall, 38-14, and a Western Kentucky stumble from taking the East Division lead. Head coach Bobby Wilder is doing a terrific job in Norfolk, aided by the running of Ray Lawry and the multidimensional talents of QB David Washington. ODU has Southern Miss this week and then two very winnable games with Florida Atlantic and Florida International before awaiting its postseason destination.

ODU ranked 62 and ahead of numerous Power 5 big names. Not sure how accurate it is, but fun to see.

Its fun to see ODU being recognized. We have benefited from a friendly schedule, but the team is definitely improving. If ODU can find a solid QB, they are going to be tough the next few years.

Seeing them one spot ahead of N.C. State casts at least some doubt on it, even conceding that a game between the two today would be closer than it was in September.

This is the kind of stuff you pound during recruiting. It doesn't matter that much who we played, it matters more that we won/keep winning. If we finish 7-1 in conference and win our bowl game, that should go a long way toward influencing potential recruits. Everyone wants to be a part of a winning program.

If you see it on the internet it is automatically true, right? That's what I'm going with.

Its a touch high, but best believe we are top 75. If we win 2 out of 3, we will finish up there.

We're definitely better on the defensive side of the ball. In past seasons, we had no chance of holding any FBS team below 35 points or so with the exception of the weather game at home vs. EMU. Now we are showing that we can, even though some of them are bad teams.

All of the bad teams references seem a little silly to me. CUSA is full of bad teams. That is just the level that we play at. SBC and MAC are also full of bad teams. Let's face it. Winning a bunch of games against bad teams is what constitutes a good season at our level. If you win a few against good teams, that is a great season.

Just win, baby. The record books years out aren't going to show our 2016 record with an asterisk because we played a garbage Marshall team and a USM led by a 3rd string freshman. All that matters is the number in the win column. Everyone else complaining just need something to complain about - and they will always find something unless we go a perfect season playing Alabama every week on the road.

WE, are currently HOT!
Now we owe FAU some payback for destroying our bowl hopes last year on our home field and sending our Seniors home early. The thing is they have won their last two and just like last year they would like to finish up strong. Here is hoping we do to their Seniors, playing their last home game, what they did to us last year. Payback is a bitxh. 04-chairshot

I look at it this way. Opportunity knocked and we opened the door.
