Poll: Why are certain (so-called) AAC fans so negative?
They are really a fan of the Autonomy 5 / Big East
Upset that their school(s) has sub-par athletics/acommplishments
Just a negative nancy in general
Its warranted

I'm late to the discussion but from my perspective there's plenty of folks obsessed with why not everyone wants to hold hands and skip down the yellow brick conference road together. I can't speak for all the folks who are "negative" toward the AAC but I would venture most of it is based on economics and survival against the other P5 conferences long term. This P6 narrative is really a dog and pony show. Sounds good, has a nice ring to it, but it's not really possible under the gap in revenues. Ok, the AAC can get more than the Fun Belt or MAC. So what.

Yeah, there's some smack talk and hyperbole slung around here but most of it boils down to wanting the best for your school/program. Another issue relates to having so many conference moving parts (members) and the lack of natural, long-standing rivalries. Did I mention the crappy bowl tie-ins? The national perception of the AAC outside of the AAC members? Perception is reality. It's not personal. It just is...

This is totally a troll thread... Don't go and try to make sense out of it.

Agree. What good does making sense do anyway? It's overrated...
