Hop does sound like he has a low football IQ during his interviews. He never talks about actual issues and things he is going to do to fix them. "The reality is" he sounds like a broken record. That said, I think (hope) he will be able to put together a staff that can coach teams up to win.

I expect he had to cut a lot of Monken's staff for budget purposes. The AD probably saw Monken's departure as an opportunity to cut coaching salaries across the board. USM's upper leadership has to get creative to improve the athletic budget because only then will we become a consistent winner again.

We're doomed regardless but going down is not smart and would cost us even more $$$.
