I used to love that song, but I can't get over the lyrics. Look at the words on the still shot.

In principal I agree, do not care for this particular part of the lyrics. But looking at the song in its totality I still enjoy. Ole boy is in a dark place especially if you listen to other tunes he's put out

it helps when one looks at the body of work instead of cherry picking.....

it's a simple metaphor in this instance...
