RE: Bowl Predictions
I liked Birmingham. We stayed in Five Points and found plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Legion Field is a dump, but it's a historical dump with plenty of good seats (meaning good views of the playing field). Plus, theres some great history in the area (I like real cities with real history more than strip malls and Disney).

I'd much rather play an SEC school in Birmingham than some Sunbelt/MAC squad in a baseball dome somewhere in Florida.

You can have it then. I'll take St. Pete and the Bay area beaches any day, but the only bowling my Bearcats will be doing is at the local lanes. #FireTubs

Beirut is a real city but I wouldn't want to go lolly gagging around it. If you want that, go to Jacksonville, you get some mild winter weather and can go tour St. Augustine.

RE: Bowl Predictions
Birmingham is fine if you're from there and home is home but for a bowl destination, it'd fall way down the list of bowl destinations I'd want to end up in along with Boise and Detroit (for the weather more so than the city, no one with a brain is gonna go randomly hanging around some run down neighborhood).

RE: Bowl Predictions
Birmingham is a war zone and a very poor bowl destination. Oh and Legion Field is a total dump.

Legion field needs paint and maintenance. The views are good. First college football game I ever went to was the Iron bowl in 72. It's now a dump and Birmingham is an awful city. Over the mountain is ok but the city itself. Awful

Id kill to play Ole Miss in Birmingham over just about anything else we have this year.

I'm saying it's better to go to Florida (or the Bahamas) than Birmingham and to play in that dump of a stadium. It'd be one thing if UH didn't play OU and Louisville during the season but they do and thus playing some power teäm isn't enticing enough to go to Birmingham to do it. That and everything from last season, UH has a solid reputation in football currently.

Not that I'll be disappointed, it wouldn't be the end of the world and it'd be cool to face a power program but I'm meh on B'ham.

I put opponent above all else. I'd rather play Auburn in Albuquerque than Louisiana Monroe in the Bahamas.

I'd bet that the Houston players would agree. The team is already catching enough crap right now. They might want the chance to prove something against an Ole Miss rather than an Idaho, especially if they lose to Louisville.

You don't like ABQ? And their stadium is a major upgrade over Lesion Field. I've never seen a prettier sunset than in Albuquerque.

I'm assuming he's never been to Albuquerque. Most people East of the Mississippi havent. It used to be a great college sports town....great food too. My three favorite foods in no particular order:
A maid rite in any small town in Iowa.
Green chili in any small town in New Mexico
Coleslaw in North Carolina
I'm the only person in the world was was born in Iowa, has lived in Albuquerque and Lubbock and went to school at ECU. I can't think of any bigger differences in American culture than those 4. I haven't even gotten into the Houston part of the equation which makes my experience even more crazy.
Cheers!
