I meant the playoff committee will not let a G5 school into the top 4 of the final poll. They will not let them in the playoff. Just like no G5 school ever finished in the top two and played for BCS championship. They could possibly rank them in top 4 at some point in the year, but would set them back at that last week, thus leaving them out of the playoffs.

Had Arkansas won the 2006 SEC Championship game, the 2007 BCS Championship game would've likely been Ohio State vs. Boise State.

How so?
I didn't remember off the top of my head but in the final bcs standings they were 8th.
1. Ohio State
2. Florida
3. Michigan
4. LSU
5. USC
6. Louisville
7. Wisconsin
8. Boise State
Am I missing something?

IIRC USC was the number two team the week of the SEC Championship game, after losing to Ohio State. Had Florida lost the SEC title game, it simply would have still been Michigan who was three, who would have gone back to two. I don't recall Boise St even being in the top 6. But I guess we could go back and look.

Before the last round of games (games of December 2), the BCS standings were:
1) Ohio State
2) USC
3) Michigan
4) Florida
Boise was #8.
On December 2, Ohio State, Boise, and Michigan were idle, USC lost to UCLA, and Florida beat #8 Arkansas in the SEC title game. As a result, USC fell to #5 in the final BCS rankings (December 3rd), Michigan to #3, and Florida rose to #2.
Boise remained at #8.
