ESPN Games on Sling TV
Quick question. Does anyone use Sling TV for ESPN? If so, are all games that are available with a cable subscription available on Sling? The website says that the sports package includes SEC Network, Pac-12, etc, but doesn't really address the thousands of G5 games that I like to flip around to on my Watch ESPN app.

If Sling does include everything, I might jump on it.

I got the $5 sports package add on and you get ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN News, SEC Network, and some PAC network stuff and then access to ESPN3 programming. So if it is on some sort of ESPN affiliation you should be able to see it. We completely cut tv so whenever a game is on ABC we watch it on ESPN3.

RE: ESPN Games on Sling TV
cbssn refuses to go digital ..no clue why, they are capable (when a game goes into OT, and overlaps another game ,it will temporally be available online to stream), but it stops immediately when the other game ends

a good portion of our games /all navy home games are on cbssn

beyond that every other game can be caught on some slingtv package
sling orange + the sport package (total $25 a month) will get you 99% of the AAC games not on cbs sports (espn, espn 2, espnu, espnnews, espn3..and our games arent on these but in case for ooc away game also includes bein/Campus Insiders/conference networks)
it doesnt include abc (we are rarely on there, but occasionally we are on it), but if you dont mind an extra $5 you can add it (total $30 a month)...or you can get an antenna for a 1 time cost of $15 and abc is broadcast and antennas will catch it (plus they put a lot of abc games on espn3, might not even need it)

but if you love watching pac10/big12/big10, nfl network and hockey (the fox channels and nbcsn) they have a super package that includes those sports networks + all the ones above, for about $55 a month ..if you love watching non-aac games aswell
everything but cbssn will be on that

I pay for the $5 addon package and use the Sling login for WatchESPN app on Roku. The stream is usually better there.

What do you chord cutters guys do for regional sports networks that televise local pro teams? For example, if I want to watch the Magic or Lightning? There doesn't seem to be a good solution short of getting basic cable/satellite.

I'll have to bow out on that one, I don't watch professional sports but Sling does have the NHL network.

Incorrect. CBSSN does offer digital streaming.

I'm not sure what those two things are that you mentioned. They sound made up. I'm just asking about sports, not basketball, baseball, or hockey.

Here in NC, the Panthers are on Fox (antenna), NBC (antenna), or NFL Network (Verizon login or go to the bar).

actually i just checked i guess they started offering it, but only if you have a select tv service provider

cox, wow, optimum and frontier..which are non of the major tv service providers

but that defeats the entire purpose of this thread which is watching the game without cable

so to the original poster, my point still remains, you still need cable to watch cbs sports

to Tech Savy you are correct too, if are one of the extremely tiny percentage of people who use one of those 4 companies for your cable , you can stream cbssports

I do PlayStation Vue (and I don't own a PlayStation). All the ESPNs, fox sports, are available and the login works for all the companion apps. CBSSportsNet is the only one I can't get.

Only hope for that one is the new DirecTV Now coming out this month.

Playstation Vue. You can stream on PS4, PS3, Roku, mobile app, etc. Their $35 package has all the ESPNs, plus FS1, FS2, Fox Regional, NBC Sports, etc. To get that on Sling you have to get the $40 package plus the $5 sports add on. And then you still get more channels on Playstation Vue. They have a free 7 day trial right now. I think Sling offers one as well. Sling also has a Windows app, the only thing Playstation Vue does not currently offer in comparison.

+1 on using WatchESPN. We have Sling Orange ($20); we don't have the sports extra. We get everything on ESPN, ESPN2, and all ABC and ESPN3.com games. For $20 more I can get the Fox channels like FS-1, but ACC teams rarely play on those.

Nice thing about Sling - you can add or remove channels on a monthly basis with no penalty.

I thought they just added windows via the web page or are about to. Right now vue is the way to go, cheaper and better than sling. Especially in cities where they support locals, particularly CBS.

How do you watch Vue without the playstation? Do you have to mirror from your phone or something?

I use a FireTV. It supports android TV too now and they're adding web support for Mac and Windows soon. You don't need a playstation, but I'd recommend the fireTV (not the stick).

That's such poo. Had to listen to the ECU-Cincy game on the radio.

First World Millennial Problem ;-) ...ask most fans over 50...and they'll tell you stories of sitting in a parking lot listening to a game on AM radio as it drifts in and out...or worst (if you live out of state) getting a Sunday Subscription to the local paper sent to you via mail several days later so you can read the game story.

Agree on CBSSN I'd actually pay a few bucks a month to receive it for increasing my college sports game inventory.

Get the Orange for $20 and the sports extra $5. You will get espn, espn2, espnews, espnu, espn3. The only games missing are on CBSN.
You also get TNT and TBS for the NBA games. Add on to that tons of other channels.
I like it. I plan on cancelling after March Madness and picking it back up come Fall.
You probably can get a 1 week trial. I got a 30 day trial with Firestick.
You can also stream using a PC.
They offer a Blue add on which will get you Fox channels. Most of that is westcoast schools and hockey.
