That's such poo. Had to listen to the ECU-Cincy game on the radio.

First World Millennial Problem ;-) ...ask most fans over 50...and they'll tell you stories of sitting in a parking lot listening to a game on AM radio as it drifts in and out...or worst (if you live out of state) getting a Sunday Subscription to the local paper sent to you via mail several days later so you can read the game story.

I was about to say that over 50 are baby boomers, then looked. Oldest Gen X are now 55. Geez.

I think I (1983) am somewhere in between X and Millennial. They say X stopped at '84, and Millennial started at '82.

Only hope for that one is the new DirecTV Now coming out this month.

How do you watch Vue without the playstation? Do you have to mirror from your phone or something?

I use a FireTV. It supports android TV too now and they're adding web support for Mac and Windows soon. You don't need a playstation, but I'd recommend the fireTV (not the stick).

Does Vue work on Roku?

RE: ESPN Games on Sling TV
I see that Vue Access combines both ESPN with FS1 (along with ESPN2 and FS2 as well), plus allows multiple simultaneous streams (something Sling does not allow with ESPN)... all for $10 more than Sling Orange, or $5 more than Sling Blue. Further, for less than the price of Sling Orange + Blue + Sports Extra ($45/month) you can get Vue Core, which has beIn, BTN, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews, ESPNU, FoxSports, FS1, FS2, Golf, NBCSN, NFLN, and SECN (for $35/month). NICE!

I got a free Roku 2 when I paid for 3 months of Sling Orange last month. I tried Playstation Vue's free one week trial last week and I think I'll be switching to PS Vue when my 3 months is up. Cheaper and more channels. Sling TV definitely has a sleeker look to it and is easier to navigate, but hopefully PS Vue will work on that now that it is competing. Also, Sling Orange doesn't allow simultaneous streams. Sling Blue allows up to 3 simultaneous streams but doesn't have the ESPNs. If you combine them, as you said, it costs more than Vue.

I pay for the $5 sports extra package on Sling, but in hindsight, if Sling Orange comes with WatchESPN access anyway, I should be able to pull up all of the games that are on ESPNU, ESPNNews, etc. on the WatchESPN app right? Only thing you wouldn't get CFB-wise would be the odd game on PAC12 network.

No. WatchESPN only means ESPN3 and ABC games. If it's playing on an ESPN channel (like ESPNU) you need to have that channel in your package to get it on WatchESPN.

I watch the entire family of networks on WatchESPN. The only exception is if its subject to a local blackout. Even saw tje UGA game on SEC Network Saturday via the App.

But do you use a cable/streaming login? His point is you have to pay for the ESPN network channels through cable or a streaming service to access them on WatchESPN.

exactly. You must have the SEC Network on the service you're using the login for, otherwise you'd get an unauthorized error in the watchESPN app.

I had to add the sports package to my PS Vue service to watch ESPNU games through the WatchESPN app.

Well yes. How else would you use WatchESPN? If youre looking to pay less than $20/month there is no such option.

Right now, I think it's PS Vue Core for $35/mo. That gets you everything minus CBSSN. There's a $30 package below this, that gets you WatchESPN, but games on ESPNU won't work with that package.

That seems to be the best bet because of CBS. I do like that the various streaming services will be in competition for our $$$

Right. Whoever asked the initial question about it was mixing up having access to WatchESPN and Sling TV. Sling TV does not "come with WatchESPN", but merely gives you access to the channels you purchase through Sling or PS Vue on WatchESPN.

Sort of. Sling itself streams all the ESPN channels individually depending on your package. You can also log into WatchESPN using Sling as your provider, and my question was whether the games you can access on WatchESPN are filtered by your level of Sling subscription. It sounds like the answer is "yes".

I pay $10 a month to watch Navy home games via CollegeSportsLive. It streams fine on my computer, but the stream on the CollegeSportsLive app for Roku has NEVER worked all season long. So I have to mirror my browser to chromecast, which is choppier. I wrote to the company and they credited me a free month ... this weekend is the last home game, so I'll cancel that subscription after that.

the cheapest for AAC games is sling orange plus the sports package ($25) (every espn)

vue is the cheapest if you watch non-aac games as well (fs1 +nbc) aac games aren't on that ($35)..

vue is cheaper if you want everything, sling is cheaper if you know you only like certain things

Kodi can be add to your directly PC (Linux, Windows, or Mac) or android device. Lots of free streaming for sports and other live TV. Here's a nice article with comparison charts:

I never had good luck finding good quality streams on Kodi, most of the reason I went with Sling. I may have to give those other apps on Kodi a shot to see if they are any better than the ones I have been using.

RE: ESPN Games on Sling TV
CBS Sports Network is a pain to watch online.

You can find pregame and highlight videos here:
https://www.youtube.com/user/CBSSports

But to watch live you have to have it on your cable/satellite provider, which can be expensive:
http://www.cbssports.com/watch/cbssportsnetwork/

It's not on Sling or Vue (1st 2 levels at least). CBS seems to have a high self-worth though: notice how you can't watch "free" CBS broadcast shows on their CBS All-Access without paying.

This sounds like a gamechanger for me...I never considered Playstation as I don't own one or play video games.

If I can pay $10 for more sports channels and multiple streams it would be well worth it.
