Things changed since I made that post and I agree with you 100%. Tech brags a lot about how their fan base travels so we can expect 5-6,000 of them at least, especially since their team is doing so well. They never have and if they dont show up for this then they never will.

I never said anything about expecting Tech to fill our stadium. I said that Tech brags about "carrying" up to 8,000 fans to away games so one could expect at least 5-6,000 at the Rock. Lets see what happens but everyone can expect those 5-6,000 to be crammed into visitors section Q which holds about 900.

Difference here is they moved this game to Friday expecting a showdown for the west so they could get it on ESPN or ESPN2. I wouldn't know if Tech is behind or not? I was a student at Tech long before 1994.

Game time is now posted on the ESPN website as 3:00 PM with the game on ESPNews.

Thirteen channels, that was culture shock for me, two channels at home, NBC and CBS, I never really watched ABC until Louisiana Tech. The TV room and dorm life generally was a great experience, many of my friends from all walks of life were made right there.
Nothing like having ten or fifteen guys in the TV room watching the likes of the Three Stooges, I love Lucy, etc..

Ruston doesnt have a local tv station, wonder if that had anything to do with cable in the dorms.

I see this "Louisiana" name tag game as one of UL Lafayettes means of slowly nudging even farther ahead of Tech for second place in the grand scheme of things related to Louisiana universties. They are already far ahead of Tech in enrollment, size, full time undergrad enrollment, number of graduates, etc. Ruston, with its 22,000 population, will not be able to stay in stride with the 150,000 or so in Lafayette over the long haul. Its a game of numbers. TEch is also squeezed between Grambling just 5mi to the West and UL Monroe just 30mi to the East.
