Things changed since I made that post and I agree with you 100%. Tech brags a lot about how their fan base travels so we can expect 5-6,000 of them at least, especially since their team is doing so well. They never have and if they dont show up for this then they never will.

Tech doesn't "brag" - you just claim so. If attending a home game the day after Thanksgiving is going to be tough for USM fans, don't you think it will be doubly tough for Tech to bring a big crowd? Of course, you set a higher and arbitrary standard for Tech to meet or you are going to be very critical of Tech. What is your basic problem with Louisiana Tech? You have never explained that. You don't make sense. Where is your Cajun buddy who loves to criticize and lie about Tech and other things? Are you flying solo now as I haven't seen him cheering you on lately. What do you think about @ Lafayette now demanding people call them LA? Are you sympathetic in their efforts to use names they don't deserve and that are expressly forbidden by law?

I see this "Louisiana" name tag game as one of UL Lafayettes means of slowly nudging even farther ahead of Tech for second place in the grand scheme of things related to Louisiana universties. They are already far ahead of Tech in enrollment, size, full time undergrad enrollment, number of graduates, etc. Ruston, with its 22,000 population, will not be able to stay in stride with the 150,000 or so in Lafayette over the long haul. Its a game of numbers. TEch is also squeezed between Grambling just 5mi to the West and UL Monroe just 30mi to the East.

Even you must recognize that the quality of education is much superior at Louisiana Tech University than the institutions we are being "squeezed" between. Not even close and neither are the athletic programs and college life in general. You constantly "observe" and report on how terrible Ruston is, which is an ignorant claim. If you can't find the many good things about Ruston and Tech, that is your problem -- and it is obviously because of hatred, jealousy, resentment, or some other irrational emotion.

As far as the other part of your ignorant post - "That's just, like, your opinion, man."

So the only example of my "ignorant" posts that you can remember is I "constantly observe and report on how terrible Ruston is. I have NEVER commented on how terrible Ruston is. I have said it is a small rural town of about 22,000 folks, not enough population to support an athletic program, no tv station, limited motel space, etc but those are FACTS, not an opinion. I think more and more coda fans who read this board will see what I am talking about as they take the opportunity to visit. One glimpse is worth a thousand words.

hahaha - stink - I think we are having fun with EE at this point. He doesn't have much materials to talk or ditch Tech anymore. Tech has been doing great since we moved to CUSA and it hurts EE more than most ULL fans.

EE, would you agree that if UL-Lafayette was a Tier 1 school with a chance to go to the Big12 (as they once claimed) and a New Years day bowl, that LSU would shut down the Univ. of Louisiana stuff? No other state university has the political power that the Tigers do.

It is my understanding that the new University of Louisiana System president is aware of this word play and does not want to play ball with UL-L on this. I know from Tech's president point of view that he would vote to sharpen the regulations, but not willing to spearhead the issue. Politics being what they are with funding, this is not the biggest issue for this group right now.

Its my opinion that LSU doesnt care one way or the other. None of the university of louisiana system schools will ever be a threat to them.

we finally found something that we agree upon 100%

I am a strong supporter of UL Lafayette but definitely not in this name game issue. If I were the other University of Louisiana System schools I would purchase some cheap jerseys with "LOUISIANA' plastered all over and wear those every time they compete in any sport. It would be fun to watch Nichols, NW State, Louisiana Tech, McNeese or whomever run out of the tunnel at Cajun Field wearing those. ULL cannot legally ban anyone for identifying themselves as Louisiana so just let every school in the state brand themselves like that until the Cajuns get the message.

...I actually kind of like this idea.

Sure you do. While some things you may say may be to a degree factual, you consistently state your views with a negative connotation of Tech and Ruston, as if you are trying to influence others to adopt your view. It doesn't make sense. Again, I ask what is you interest or motivation? As you are a supporter of @ Lafayette, do you agree with the company line that @ Lafayette didn't cheat? As a self proclaimed expert at large, would you not agree that academic fraud is the worst violation an educational institution can commit, as @ Lafayette did?
